2016 The Year of Great Tribulation?

There is this prophecy that this year is the time of long prophesied Jacob's trouble as written by prophet Jeremiah as well as some other prophets in the Bible.

The reason for this prophet to come up with the 2016 being the year of the Great Tribulation is based on the revelation the Lord showed to Daniel In Daniel chapter 8.

In this vision,Daniel saw animals.One a ram with two long horns and a goat with a great horn.The ram with two long horn was charging west,east and south and was so powerful that nobody could challenge him.Until,this strange goat with a great horn came charging at the ram with great speed and struck him such that the horns were broken and could not stand before the powerful goat.

Another strange thing happened to the goat who now has great power and authority. The great horn that was the tool of victory over the ram broke up suddenly into 4 prominent horns.Then out of one of these horns came a small horn which grew very powerful toward the south east and the beautiful land,which is the holy land.

This small horn was full of pride that he made himself equal to the commander of the host of Heaven. He took away the daily sacrifice and the sanctuary was thrown down. This small horn will so much prevail over the people of the holy land that he would conquer the host,that is the people of the sanctuary and they would not be able to make any sacrifice for 2300 evening and mornings.After which the sanctuary will be cleansed and properly restored to God's people.

It was based on this premise of the 2300 evenings and mornings that this anonymous prophet decided to count the 2300 to be 2300 years. And he came to a conclusion that the 2300 years will end in 2016. Counting the years from the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem in AD 70.

But this man was really wrong.Even if you count 2300 years from AD 70,that would not brings us to 2016. And the 2300 years were not years as he took it to be.In the Bible,the evenings and morning in Genesis 1 when God created the earth, was a single day.So, 2300 evenings and mornings would be 1150 days if an evening and morning is a day.

For the tribulation to begin,all the prophecies of Jesus Christ on Mount Olive would have been fulfilled to the letter. But now, all the prophecies are not yet all fulfilled. Yes,there are earthquakes,civil wars,terrorism increasing,famines through wars and global climate changes, but these only are beginnings of the sorrow of the tribulation that would come on the whole world.

It would take the abomination to enter the Holy place of the sanctuary in Jerusalem for the Great Tribulation to begin. The man that would bring abominable things into the Temple at Jerusalem is still gathering momentum.He has rising to lime light yet. The confusion and the rising dissensions in European Union is a pointer to the momentum.

let us be careful of false prophet and prophecies at this time. Let us look to the Bible to be our guide as the day fast approaches.
