A question that I wanted to ask everyone now. It came back. I was done with this last month and I was very worried about it, now it's back and I'm hating it.

How it started

It was near the end of July this year when I took a leave of absence from work because my son is not feeling so well because of his teething. His gums are swelling and new teeth are emerging from it. It was pretty normal for kids at his age to emerge teeth, that's what happens normally and sometimes, it is incorporated with fever, cough, and colds due to the lowering of his immune system. He is also weak because he eats less than his normal diet due to the pain he feels in his gums.

During the daytime, it was very hot, and at night time, it rains and the dawn is very cold. My husband could sometimes be wet with rain when he is traveling causing his immunity to go down and then he had a fever the following day. I took care of them, I even had less sleep than I usually have every night, checking on my son and making sure he drinks his medicine in time. I boiled water and salt so my husband will inhale the steam. he felt better after doing it.

the third day, it was my second daughter who was having a fever, good thing that husband is feeling better. In fact that day, I am not feeling well. I advised my eldest daughter to not come close to us for she is staying with my mother so she will not get infected with whatever virus we have. That night, I feel so cold and I'm having a fever already, I'm starting to have a cough and cold. I needed to elevate my head during sleep because I'm having trouble breathing. I even notice myself using my mouth to breathe during sleep. The following morning, my eldest daughter felt feverish. We sent her to my husband's mother, but I regretted it because she had a fever there and I was not able to take care of her.

That afternoon, my husband cooked vegetable soup early and we all eat early. We even slept early and we never spent a minute on phones. We took time to rest but before that, we inhaled steam of boiled water with ginger and salt. Thank God we all felt better the next day, but my mother started to feel feverish.

After I was relieved with fever, only colds is left, I felt like always choking with my saliva every time I eat or talk, and I have to cough to free my airway from it. I was afraid this might be it.( I was at self denial this time. I am so afraid of the truth.I never even dared to tell anyone so they will not report me and get me to a swab test and isolate me).

It was a little later that I know the first one to have a fever in our family is my nephew who works in the city, then his mother. In fact almost all of the people in the community that I live in are having fever and cough. My husband's niece who went to our home to bring something said that all members in their house are also having fever. Later when I returned to work, I was informed that workers are working double time due to the lack of personnel, most of the absent personnel have fever too.

It might be Covid, I guess.

90 percent of the employees already have had a fever at that time. They just didn't tell the LGU or they will be swabbed and quarantined. One employee, A forklift operator filed a sick leave and went to his family. He was advised to take a swab test and it was found that he is Positive of Covid 19. He underwent 14 day s quarantine with his wife in his home. The following day, the liaison officer was not able to report on duty because too is having a fever. He was immediately advised to take a swab test but the results took a few days so he went home to Lanao Del Sur. We later knew that his nephew had been having fever on and off for a week before him. The forklift operator, liaison officer and his nephew live in one place.

The following week, only half of the personnel in the admin department were able to report to duty. I asked Ramil where they are but he said they are having a skeletal duty system. I asked Rona about it and she told me the truth is that all the personnel that is not around is Covid positive. I was alarmed, but thankful to God that I have been preventive measures since before it.

The Smoke

Now that the colds and choking feeling that I have is gone, I noticed that I smell smoke. Like lots of firewood and dried leaves were burned. I smell it everywhere every time. There are times when I look around and see if there is a fire near me. The smell is so strong, it is like I am suffocating with the smoke. It's sharp on the chest, just like if I have been breathing smoke for a minute. Sometimes it's gone, then it will come back so strong. This feeling was gone over two weeks ago, now it's back and it's torturing me.

I told my husband about it and he said It was the same feeling he had before he had the fever. I remembered him always complaining about a very sharp smell, he asks me if I smelled it but I didn't. He was so worried that time and he was even about to cry, He didn't know what to do, I was so worried about him too. Now he was worried about me and comforts me and tells me that it will be gone one day.

Despite what I feel, I am still grateful to God and thankful about it.

I even searched google about it, and saw that smelling smoke an be linked to covid too( medical personnel are still studying it) here are the links on what I read: https://www.winknews.com/2021/03/17/some-covid-19-survivors-experiencing-unpleasant-smells/

Theory

My allergies on dust and cold air had been triggered this past week so maybe that might be the reason the my smelling is distorted. I have been very careful of my health this time but I really can't avoid allergies. Even my hair causes me allergies too. Whenever they fall into my face, my face, eyes and nose itches then causes me to sneeze and then lots of clear liquid from my nose goes out. This is one of the reasons why I always tie my hair, wear headbands or hats. The reason why I don't like waking up early too. I can't remember when it started. I only noticed it when it was already severe. I hope this will all be gone soon.

I chose not to incorporate any picture for I was too weak to hold the phone at that time. Thank you for your time.
