HOW I SPENT MY DAY

IN THE MORNING

In the morning

Hello everyone I would be sharing all the activities that happened today, it has been raining for two weeks now non-stop, well.... its the rainy season and it is expected, today being the first working day of the new week, I had clothes to wash, and they had been piling up for over a week now, and I couldn't wash them because of the constant rainfall, knowing fully well that washing it would mean, it would have to be hung for another one week, after waiting everyday to see if the rain would give at least one-day of sunshine, I then decided that today, I would not wait any longer and had to wash my clothes, I bought WAW detergent worth #500, I then washed the clothes.

At first the weather looked as if it wasn't going to rain as other days, I was happy that my clothes would finally dry without having to stay long outside, but unfortunately, I was wrong, just after 45 minutes of washing my clothes, the rain started and called heavily soaking the clothes, I was angry, but had expected it due to the season we were in. I was to go to school as we had workshop practice after we concluded our exams, so I brushed my teeth, took my bath, then warmed my food, and ate in preparation to go to school for the workshop practice. I was done eating but couldn't go out because of the heavy downpour so I had to wait for the rain to stop or even reduce for me to go out.

The workshop practice was scheduled for 11 am, we attend Mondays and Wednesdays every week since we finished our exams. I waited until 12:30 pm before I could leave the house because that was the time the rain subsided a little bit. So from my house I trekked to the school gate, I was a 25- Minutes walk from my house to the school gate. On getting to the school gate, I boarded a keke (tricycle) at the rate of #100 to my faculty (engineering) where the workshop was holding, and I discovered that work had already started as those who stayed close by were already there working though they were few because of the rain, but they turn up as time went on.

We had a big project at hand which we started in our previous level, which was to produce an electric tricycle, we were still advancing with that project, we had completed the body frame, everything was almost done as the controls and everything were being put in place, but we still had to do some connections for it to move, though we were not the ones that started the project, our senior colleagues started building it and have graduated, so the department gave an issue, that our set should be the last set to complete the project so we would finish it before we get to our final year.

That was not the main project we were focusing on as we would continue the project till our final year, so we were just doing it bit by bit till we were done. Our main project was the construction of a trolley using cylindrical steel. On the first day we came out and were divided into three groups (A, B, C). We were to produce three trolleys, one for each group, at the end of the exercise after a month. So everything since then, we have been going there cutting the metals, filing them, in preparation for welding to produce the trolley.

THE IMPENDING ISSUE OF LIGHT

Another issue we encounter is the issue of light,the school is powered by different generators in different faculties, sometimes, a generator powering even two faculties, the high cost of diesel also makes it difficult to run. The transformer in the school has spoiled for more than a year now. Yes... more than one year, you might ask, why has the issue not been rectified yet? Well, the school is installing solar panels so the school would no longer depend on the electricity for power holding companies, as the school will soon be running on solar power.
So we have to do as the cutting we have before the generator is turned off by 2 pm, we have to work slowly because of these challenges we are facing.

IN THE AFTERNOON - I WENT HOME AND COOKED

After today's session, we gathered around to sign attendance for the people present, I then returned home and was happy because sun shone a bit, meaning my clothes would dry a bit. I was very hungry after work and everything in school, I bought 2 packs of Beloxxi crackers biscuits (#200), to hold myself while I prepared what I would cook. I bought 2 cups of rice (#900, #450 per cup), Maggi (#100), Pepper (#100), Oil (#250), I had onions and salt at home so I didn't buy the onions. I first parboiled the rice for 15 minutes, then I sieved the water from the rice and then fried the onions in the red oil, and put the available ingredients. I then cooked for about 45 minutes, and then food was ready, I dished into a flat plate and ate.

After eating, I then relaxed watching a movie, for an hour and half, and after that, I then went online, first to check my messages and then, I went on Steemit to explore communities, check for notifications and then I had to write on my activities today.
