I Have a Dream...

You know, I have a big dream. I want my relationship with my beloved to be something different—what you all call a long-distance relationship.

We won’t meet every day. Our conversations will happen in between work, sometimes just a short message. And on the busiest of days, maybe not even that. Still, there will be no misunderstandings between us—only silent understanding and a deep, invisible bond of love.

That’s how our days will pass. And then, suddenly, one day, while I’m returning from college or work, you will appear in front of me out of nowhere—with a bouquet of flowers in one hand and a small gift from your heart in the other.

Your unexpected presence will stop me in my tracks. For a moment, I’ll feel like I’ve slipped into a dream. I’ll stand still, just staring at you, blinking again and again—trying to believe it’s really you.

Then you’ll reach out and hold my hand. That touch will confirm it—you’re truly here. I’ll be overwhelmed with joy, almost unable to express myself. You’ll smile and say,
“What happened? Won’t you show me around your city?”

I’ll then take you to my favorite spot by the Ganges river. In the golden light of the setting sun, with my head resting on your shoulder, we’ll talk endlessly—lost in the moment.

And after all that, we’ll return to our own homes. Later in the evening, as I replay everything in my mind, I’ll feel as if it was all just a dream.

But then, you’ll call again and say,
“It wasn’t a dream. I was really there.”
