Supersticios@ me?..

Superstition is a deep cited belief or practice based on handed-down traditions, culture or assumptions that specific events, actions, or objects can influence the outcome of situations by bringing good or bad luck. Such beliefs often lack any logical or scientific basis.

Superstition can show itself in many forms ranging from prefering or avoiding numbers like 7, 11 or 13. Believing in lucky charms or talismans, associating certain events or actions with good or bad luck

Do you believe in superstitions? If it is affirmative on a scale of 1 to 10, how superstitious are you? If you are not, explain why?

I totally do not believe in superstition, so from 0 to 10, I rate myself as a zero. To allow stories that have no scientific or logical grounds to control my everyday actions does not feel rational at all. It is only best to adopt an evidence-based decision-making strategy recognizing that actions yield consequences and can largely determine our future and not necessarily the fact that a black cat crossed our path from left to right.

Do you think that if you are superstitious you can control the fate of fate?.

A superstitious person can not control the outcome of events even with strict adherence to superstitious rules because some of the rules are contradictory or too vague; evidence-based decision-making recognises that actions yield consequences and determine our future and is open to different interpretations.
It encourages fear of the unknown and can seriously limit productivity and unnecessary spending on lucky charms, talismans, or rituals with no tangible benefits.
Imagine the waste of time when a man has to take another route to work because he saw vultures eating a dead animal on the shortcut to work.
We are sometimes affected by chances, being at the wrong place at the wrong time and suffering the effect of chances. This does not matter which side of the bed we woke up.

What do you think of this superstition "Do not marry, nor embark, nor depart from your house?".

I interpret this superstitious statement to mean that we are not to do certain things on certain days and in certain circumstances because it would end in bad luck. Believers will not take any risk at such times to avoid the bad lock.
With this, I could create my own superstitious rules. Don't have serious discussions when you are angry or under pressure; it will be bad luck.
Do not storm off and drive out when you have a quarrel with your wife, it attracts accidents. Do not fiddle with your phone at night when walking home, the phone will call for another owner or push you into something.

Do you think it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding?

Keeping the groom away from the bride during the marriage till its time is part of our culture. But for all I know, people these days select their spouse themselves. So they must have seen each other many times before now, and for that, I see no reason why the rule on the wedding day should be enforced.

What other superstition do you know that you can share with us? Do you think it's true?

Locally, you will have to destroy the photos of your dead father or grandfather because it may hunt you. My problem has been the fact that Charles Garbage, Isaac Newton, Abraham Lincoln and other dead figures in our textbooks pictures do not hunt us. Why should my father's picture haunt me?

It is said that you must knock on the door of a dead man's room before you open it in case he is inside so he has time to vanish.

Don't keep a broom in the house at night; it could open the door for witches when they come.
