feast to commemorate the passing of uncle

Today is a day that we fill with a solemn atmosphere and full of gratitude. At home, we held a small kenduri event to remember and pray for our beloved late uncle who had left us. Although this event was held simply, the intention and sincerity that underlie each series of activities made it so meaningful.

the place we have prepared
Since morning, the atmosphere at home has felt different. My family and I prepared everything with enthusiasm and full responsibility. Starting from cleaning the house, preparing mats for the living room, to arranging food and equipment that will be used to welcome guests. My mother and wife prepared a simple, yet delicious and appetizing banquet menu that will be served according to the joint prayer.

There were only a few invited guests, most of them were close neighbors and some relatives who were close to the deceased during his life. We deliberately did not hold a big event, because our main intention was to send prayers and remember the kindness of uncle solemnly and simply. In the midst of this silence and solemnity, we together read tahlilan and prayers for the deceased, asking Allah SWT that all his good deeds be accepted and get the best place by His side.

The atmosphere felt so quiet and full of emotion when the prayer was said. Every sentence that was read seemed to flow with our longing for the figure of the uncle who had been an important part of the family. For me personally, my uncle was not only a relative, but also a figure who had guided and accompanied me a lot after my father's passing. There were many memories and life lessons that I got from him, and this time I tried to repay his kindness a little by sending prayers and sincere respect.

After finishing praying together, we immediately served food to the guests. In the mat-covered living room, we sat together enjoying the dinner that had been prepared. Nothing fancy, just simple dishes like white rice, chicken cooked in soy sauce, chili sauce and vegetables. However, what makes everything feel warm is the togetherness and sincerity that is present in it.

This kenduri event is a reminder that life is slowly short, and praying for each other is the most sincere form of love. I am grateful to be able to carry out this event smoothly with my family. May every prayer we say today be a light for the path for my late uncle in the afterlife, and be a strength for us who are still given the opportunity to live.
