Hello stemians I am excited to participate in this contest most especially be alive to witness this year's Easter celebration

Here is a break down of my plans for the season

My Plans for Easter: Singing, Creating, and Celebrating New Life

Easter has always held a special place in my heart. It’s not just a religious celebration for me—it’s an emotional reset. A moment when I get to slow down, reflect deeply, and remind myself of the hope that keeps us all going. This year, my plans for Easter are shaping up beautifully, and I thought I’d share them with you—not just the schedule, but the feelings behind them.

Church Choir Vibes and Heartfelt Singing

First of all, I’ll be singing in church this Easter, and I honestly can’t wait. There’s something about Easter Sunday that makes singing feel extra powerful. I don’t know if it’s the joy in the air, the full congregation, or just the knowledge of what Easter represents, but my heart always feels fuller when I sing on this day.

We’ve been rehearsing for a while now, and I can already tell that our choir is going to sound amazing. One of the songs we're doing is "Because He Lives." And let me tell you—every time we get to the part that says “Life is worth the living just because He lives,” I feel like my whole body chills. That line hits different, especially if you’ve had your share of tough seasons.

I’ve also been asked to sing a solo during one of the quieter moments of the service. Honestly, I’m a little nervous, but I’ve been practicing it every evening, just me and my little speaker, pouring my heart into every note. I know I’ll be fine—I’m not aiming for perfection. I just want it to be real.

Decorating the Church: A Creative Expression of Faith

Apart from singing, I’ll also be helping out with the church decorations, and I’m really looking forward to that too. I love how creativity can be used as a form of worship. For Easter, we’re going with a theme of "new life"—lots of flowers, soft whites, gold accents, and paper butterflies (which I may or may not have spent too much time obsessing over).

We’ve also decided to set up a “prayer wall” this year, where people can write down prayers or names on sticky notes. I suggested this idea because sometimes people carry silent burdens. Giving them a space to express something quietly can be healing in ways we don’t always see.

There’s just something so peaceful about working with your hands for a cause that matters. Whether it’s taping paper leaves to the wall or arranging flowers around the altar, every small touch feels sacred to me.

Wearing Something New: A Simple, Sentimental Habit

This might sound silly, but every Easter, I make it a point to wear something new. Not because of fashion—though I do enjoy dressing up—but because it symbolizes a fresh start for me. A new season. A new chapter.

This year, I’ve decided to make my own dress. I bought this soft, floral fabric a while ago and just never got around to using it. Easter gave me the perfect excuse. It’s nothing fancy—just a light, flowy dress in pastel shades—but there’s something satisfying about wearing something your own hands helped create. Even if my stitches are a little crooked here and there!

A Quiet Creative Moment Just for Me

After all the activity at church, I’m planning to spend some quiet time with myself. I call it my "Creative Resurrection Hour"—cheesy name, I know, but it works for me. I’ll grab my journal, some watercolors, maybe a cup of tea, and just sit outside.

I don’t plan anything specific—I just let my thoughts flow. Sometimes I write letters to God. Sometimes I paint something abstract or write a poem. Last year, I ended up writing a piece about how hope doesn’t always look shiny—it often starts out like a seed, buried and hidden. That poem stayed with me for months.

I guess it’s my way of responding to Easter with more than words or tradition. Creativity helps me process the spiritual side of things in my own personal language.

Spreading a Little Joy for the Kids

And because Easter isn’t complete without a little fun, I’ve put together small goodie bags for some of the kids in the neighborhood. Just simple stuff—mini chocolates, crayons, stickers, and little cards that say things like “You are so loved” or “You’re full of light.”

I remember how much joy those small surprises brought me when I was little. So now that I’m older, it feels like a joy to pass that feeling on. If the weather holds up, I might even organize a tiny Easter egg hunt in the yard. Just the thought of seeing their happy faces already makes me smile.

Wrapping It All Up

So yeah—that’s my Easter this year. It’s a mix of spiritual moments, creative expression, and small acts of kindness. I’m not chasing perfection; I just want to be present. I want to soak in the beauty of the day, sing my heart out, hug people I love, and celebrate the message that no matter how dark things get, the light always comes back.

Easter reminds me that new beginnings are always possible, even when we least expect them. And I guess that’s something we all need now and then.

What about you? What does Easter look like in your world?

Thanks for going through my post I hope to see your responses
