My Dream Job
Everyone has that one dream that keeps them going mine has always been clear: I want to be a journalist, a broadcaster, and a media personality. Not just for the sake of the titles, but because I genuinely want to use my voice to speak for others, tell real stories, and bring something meaningful to society through the media.
Growing up, I was always drawn to the power of communication. The way one news story could spark a national conversation or how a well-delivered broadcast could stir emotions it fascinated me. I’d watch the news not just for the headlines but for how the anchors spoke, the confidence in their delivery, the way their voices carried authority. It wasn’t just about reporting events. It was about how those events were told. That’s when I knew: this is where I belong.
Right now, I’m studying Communication Arts, and honestly, it’s been the perfect foundation. We don’t just focus on journalism we dive into broadcasting, public relations, advertising, and even the creative side of media. It’s a whole world of storytelling, and each branch has something unique to offer. One day, I could be covering a live event; the next, I’m crafting a PR campaign or learning how to edit an audio clip. It’s dynamic, fast-paced, and deeply human and that’s exactly why I love it.
For me, journalism isn’t just about chasing stories; it’s about giving people a voice, especially those who are usually unheard. There are so many things happening around us every day social issues, political drama, community struggles, inspiring victories. I want to be the kind of journalist who pays attention, who digs deeper, who brings the truth to light. Not just what’s trending, but what actually matters.
Broadcasting is another area I’m passionate about. There’s something powerful about hearing a voice on the radio or seeing someone on TV who makes you feel seen and heard. I want to be that person someone who connects with the audience, who makes the news more than just headlines, who brings life to stories. I want to host shows, moderate discussions, interview people from all walks of life, and explore issues that affect us as a society. And maybe even throw in a bit of entertainment to keep things balanced.
Media is a powerful tool, and I don’t take that lightly. With the right mindset, it can shape opinions, change lives, and build communities. That’s why I’m not just interested in being popular or going viral. I want to be relevant for the right reasons. I want to educate, inform, and inspire. I want to be remembered as someone who stood for truth, creativity, and integrity in the media space.
Public relations and advertising might sound like the “softer” side of media to some people, but to me, they’re equally powerful. PR is about managing perceptions, building trust, and creating positive relationships. Advertising is about connecting with people through ideas, visuals, and emotion. These skills are essential in today’s media landscape, where image and messaging matter just as much as content. Learning how to balance these elements has taught me a lot about communication as a whole.
Of course, I know this dream won’t come easy. Media is competitive. It takes more than talent it takes consistency, resilience, and a thick skin. There’ll be criticism, tough deadlines, and probably a few moments where I’ll question myself. But I’m ready for all of it. I’m not just dreaming I’m preparing. Every class I take, every skill I learn, every opportunity I get to speak or write or produce it all adds up to the future I see for myself.
What keeps me going is the idea that one day, I’ll be in a newsroom, or behind a mic, or in front of a camera, doing what I love and making a difference while at it. I’ll be telling real stories, asking tough questions, celebrating the wins, and calling out the wrongs. I’ll be a voice people recognize not because I’m famous, but because I’m honest, consistent, and passionate about what I do.
So yes, my dream job is to be a journalist, a broadcaster, and a media personality. I’m not there yet, but every step I take is bringing me closer. I believe in the power of media. I believe in using it the right way. And I believe that my voice our voices can truly make a difference.
