The Courage To Start
A few weeks back, I got talking with a friend and he was telling me about a particular idea that he has been nursing for more than 1year but he has been waiting for the perfect time to start. For over 1 year and he has not seen the "perfect" time. Then I had to advise him that if he starts now, it will become a perfect time for him. Adorably, he decided to start the next day after we spoke, and just after a few days, he was wowed by the results he was already seeing. If he had not started, he would not have known that something amazing would come out of the idea. When you have an idea or a plan or something you want to do, you need the courage to take the first step, and you will be surprised how other steps will be falling into place.

Every great achievement or mind-blowing feat that you see today started with one very important trait - the courage to start. The dreams you have may be so big, your goals may be massive, your intended destination may be very adorable, but what is separating you from achieving them is the decision to take the first step. Without making a move and without taking the first step, how will you arrive at the destination? The first step may even look small and like a "baby step," but it is this small step that will become a massive achievement in the future and will herald other giant strides. You can only arrive at a destination when you have started the journey, otherwise you may remain in stagnancy.
It is worthy to note that life will not wait for you to feel fully prepared for an action. That is, life may rarely present you with the perfect time to take actions. One of the major undoings of a lot of people is that they keep waiting for perfect moment, perfect time, enough money, enough support, infinite knowledge, and enough confidence in order to make a move and they end up not making any move at all. What they they fail to understand is that life will only reward doers; those who make the move even in the face of uncertainty and fears. Just to let you know; there may not be a more perfect time to take the long-awaited step than now. So you need to build the courage to start.
Courage does not deny the fact that life may present challenges to you, and it does not also mean that fear is absent, but it means looking the fear in the face and taking actions irrespective of it. Even though you have to make a small move or take a little step, but by all means, start. The small step can be; picking up a form to seek for admission, starting up a little business, writing the first page of a book, sending that email or even making that call. You will be surprised the power that rests on the first step to make other steps to happen. The first step of the journey plus other steps will lead you to the destination.

The first step creates the momentum that you need, and it also breaks the hold of fear. The courage to take the first step tells your mind that "even though you cannot deny the possibility of uncertainties, you are ready to give it a trial." You do not have to focus on the big picture in the journey of life, so that you will not be overwhelmed and discouraged, just focus on one step at a time. You may not even have all the answers before you begin, but as you go, other answers will be available. You have a choice to start from where you are and keep moving, or to keep waiting for when you will have the perfect start and may not start.
In life, it is true that talent is good, skill is also good, even knowledge is also good. But much more than this is the courage and braveness to start. What is the benefit of having incredible skills and talents, and possessing extensive knowledge and you cannot apply it? A person who knows something and is not putting it to use is almost not different from the person who does not know it. It is what you do with your talent, skills and knowledge that will produce the results.
