Putting Your Compassion To Action: Changing The World One Person At A Time
Yesterday, a lot of people celebrated the Easter but if you take a moment of review how you celebrated it, will you say confidently that you affected at least a soul positively? It is not really about the season but what you do with it to help humanity. You will be surprised to know that many of the people you meet on a daily basis are going through insanely tough times that you know nothing about. This is what you have to show compassion and empathy to people. The little compassion you show to someone can affect their life in ways you cannot even imagine.

One of the things that I have understood about compassion is that it is not just about what you say with your mouth or what you profess, neither is it just a feeling, but it is an action that comes from the understanding of the needs of people, so as to help them. When you show compassion, you become part of the agents to restore humanity. A good act done to one person will act like a ripple reaction to change the world. It is true that you may not be able to change the entire world, but you can change it one person at a time. One language that is universally understood by everyone irrespective of their race, is the language of love and of charity.
You have to first have love for humanity and for humankind before you can show compassion. It is the love that you have for people that will translate to the level of compassion you show on them. It is sad enough that in this era, sincere love is almost going into extinction and it is being replaced by social media validation, while a lot of people are becoming super busy by the day. This is why a lot of unwholesome things are now happening than it has ever happened in the past. If we will spark up love in our heart and take actions towards it too, we will be surprised how the world will be changed positively.
Compassion is not only shown by what you give in form of tangible things but a lot of other non-tagible things can actually make a whole lot of difference. For example, a kind advice that you will give to someone can change their life for the good for ever. More so, giving someone a listening ear without judging them, can restore their hopes in humanity.

A lot of the little gestures of life carry some of the greatest impacts of life. If you have ever been lost in a journey before and suddenly someone offers you the right direction, you will see how happy and joyous you will be. In the reality, what was given was not material, but it was relevant and as such, the gesture makes a great impact.
The beauty of compassion is that it goes beyond race, background, nationality, and religion. When you are compassionate, you will begin to understand humans better. There are more things in life than just about yourself. When you are compassionate, you tend to build bridges across the differences of people. You can affect the lives of the people around you, and by extension, the world at large when you show compassion to people. You do not have to wait until you have become too comfortable before you care for others. Right with what you have and where you are, you can create an impact in at least one person - you only need to have a compassionate heart.
You may not be able to solve the entire problems in the world at once, but you can start by fixing your own corner. By doing a compassionate action daily, you sow seeds of greatness, kindness, goodness, and hope to the world. Always try to become the reason why someone has hope of survival, and also become a channel of blessing to at least one person daily. Remember that what makes the most impact is what you do with a heart of humanity and of compassion.
