Guidelines For Achieving Life Success [Part 1]
Achieving success in life is not what is freely gifted to anyone without an input from them. This is why it has been said that "you have to follow the process to obtain the result." For everything of value you want to achieve in life, including success, there is always something to do and guidelines to follow. You have to understand that the journey towards achieving success, even though you may have assistance from others, is fundamentally an individual race. Here, we shall take a look at some guidelines to follow in order for one to achieve success. Remember that it is the rules that you obey that will eventually make you a ruler in the affairs of your life.

The first guideline is to define what success means to you. Success can mean a lot of things to a lot of people and can also come in various forms. So you have to know what matters to you and what to achieve. This starts with having a dream, a vision of what you want, and what you want to be in life. Trust me, if you do not know that solution you want to obtain, you will not even know if you have it or not. If you do not have a dream, there will be nothing that will prompt or motivate you to take actions. Even if you do, you will not know if you are making progress or not. There has to be something that you look up to in order to motivate you to take actions.
The second guideline is to always take responsibility for your life and your actions. No matter what you think, what you dream, the vision you have, you still have to take responsibility for your actions. That is, take the required actions in line with what you want to achieve and in line with your dream. But not just that, you also have to take responsibility for the results that will arise from the actions - no excuse, no trading blames. It is when you take responsibility that you will be able to learn from what has happened. In taking responsibility for your life, you also need to take responsibility for the events of your life. Even if what happens is not your fault, you can still respond effectively to it.
Another guideline is to master self-discipline. Motivation is good, but discipline beats it. Motivation may get you started and may even lead you to take actions, but it is discipline that will sustain you through it. Successful people build habits that serve their goals even the days that they do not feel like lifting up a finger. For you to wake up each morning, pursue your dreams each day, take daily actions, then there must be something more than just motivation that is pushing you - it is discipline. Discipline leads you to small daily wins that will sum up to bigger wins.
The next guideline is continuous learning. In life, your success is limited to what you know. The more you know, the easier it will become to achieve success in that particular area. Winners and successful people never stop learning. In life there will always be something new to be learnt. To learn, there are things that can help you: like asking questions when you need it, personal research, being in the company of people who will encourage learning and make you to think. Trust me, every success is attainable if you will be able to learn and grow into it. You will be surprised that when you learn more, what you had failed at in the past would just become an easy walkover.

The last guideline that we shall look at here is to learn to add value to others. Winning alone is not the ultimate idea, but also help others to win and succeed. I have come to realise that when you help others to rise, you will rise faster. This same thing also happens when you help others to succeed, your own success will be quickened. Trust me, the more you help others to solve their own problems, the more doors will be opened to you, and the easier it will be to solve your own problems.
