We can never be perfect

Assalamu Alaikum

How are you? By Allah's grace, I'm doing very well. Nothing in our world is perfect but still we are chasing perfection like we should have a perfect life, we need a perfect house, we should have a perfect car i.e. we need everything to be perfect. Now the question is can everything really be perfect and the answer to this is no. Perfection is an illusion or hyper reality of ours and today most of the people in the whole world are trapped in this illusion.

Perfection is a kind of illusion because what is perfect for someone may not be perfect for someone else, perfection varies from person to person, what seems perfect to me does not necessarily have to be perfect for all. For example, I like playing video games, so I always think how perfect the person who made the video games made them. But if I tell this same thing to a cricketer, he will say that these are useless games, and will say why people sit and play video games for hours, etc. Now, a video game lover can tell these same things to a cricketer, but the reality is that not all of them are perfect. These two topics are perfect in their own places for their own audiences, so we have to understand that not everything is perfect. What seems perfect to you today may not seem perfect to you tomorrow, like the Nokia mobile was quite perfect for the kids of the 90s but today we think the iPhone is perfect. It may be that in the future, a better phone than the iPhone will come, then we may think the iPhone is outdated. So the question is was Nokia perfect or is iPhone perfect and the answer is neither because the example of perfection keeps changing over time.

See, this setting of not being perfect and making mistakes is already a default set in us and it makes us human. We make mistakes and learn from those mistakes, even if we wanted to, we could never be someone who never made mistakes. Understand it this way, imagine an athlete preparing for a competition, working very hard, but after all this hard work, on the day of the competition, he may make a mistake or sprain his leg or something else may happen that prevents him from performing well. As humans, we are not perfect at anything, so we should not look for perfection in everything and be satisfied with what we have.

Today's discussion concludes here. I hope you've found it interesting. Please share your thoughts on today's topic. Prayers for everyone. May everyone be well. Amen.
