Are smartphones really harming us?

Assalamu Alaikum

How are you? By Allah's grace, I'm doing very well. Although technology is a medium with which we can make our work easier but today this technology is being used in such a bad way that there is no limit. Technology was not a problem until the arrival of smartphones, phones are getting smarter day by day and people are getting addicted to their phones. Nowadays a person wastes unnecessary time through his mobile phone and in this way by using it every day he wastes the precious time of his own life.

Steve Jobs changed the world with the iPhone, but Steve Jobs never let his children use phones. The owner of Facebook does not waste time sitting on Facebook all day, he is only busy with how to make Facebook more attractive so that more people come and spend time here. Almost all smartphone users use their phones before going to bed at night, many people in this world have many types of addictions, some are addicted to social media, some are addicted to bad friends and some are addicted to smartphones. First we were slaves of the British, today we have become slaves of notifications, notifications on our phones really make us restless, that is, no matter how important we do, we check notifications without doing anything and we do not even know whether they are useful or useless notifications. Most smartphone users check notifications even while doing their important work, and there are some people who check their smartphone notifications every 15 minutes and many times check their smartphones for no reason. We cannot even imagine how many likes and comments are received on their pictures uploaded on social media just to see this and we waste hours of our time checking it. No one on social media shows their real life. If you look at someone's real life, you will see that everyone has sorrow in their life, everyone is in trouble and we are crying. They are happy but why are we so sad? We all have to remember that we are fine as we are and the person who knows this truth will not worry about these things. Today we are considering that problem as a problem which is not a problem and we do not pay any attention to what is really a problem. This is because we are not able to get out of the unnecessary problems. Look, there are all kinds of people in this world, we cannot compare a needle with a sword because the work of a needle is different, a sword can never do what a needle does and a sword can never do what a sword does. So we cannot compare a needle with a sword and say that a needle is good or bad, so we have to stop comparing these false things with reality. Today, due to social media, we are busy knowing about the lives of others but we do not know anything about our own lives.

We start feeling depressed when our smartphone battery runs out, more than 70 thousand thoughts come to our brain in a day and it depends on what we see, what we hear and what we read and we all know what we see today. As we see, as we hear, thoughts come to our heads and as we think, we will act and as we act, we will become. App companies are always trying to make their applications more attractive so that more people can come and spend time there. The more a person uses social media, the more he will feel lonely, these days our day starts with the phone and ends with the phone and the more unnecessary time we waste on social media, the more damage we will do to our career. The more we are involved in social media, the more we are moving away from our loved ones, even if we are all together at home, everyone is busy with everyone's phone but we have to remember that phones are immortal and those next to us are not immortal. So we should control our social media and phone, we should not give so much power to the phone that the phone starts controlling us. Smart phone is not life but a small part of life, so it should be kept as a small part of life. I am not discouraging anyone from using smartphone, smartphone is not a problem of any kind, the problem we are creating by using it is the main problem. A stick can be used to protect from dangerous animals and another stick can be used to hit someone, so the stick is not at fault, the user is at fault. Remember that nothing is good in excess, be it studying, playing sports or using mobile. There is a limit to all these, once the limit is crossed, it is considered an addiction, and it is not good to be addicted to anything. So you too use your smartphone for the right purpose, make your smart phone your slave, you will not be a slave to your smartphone.

Today's discussion concludes here. I hope you've found it interesting. Please share your thoughts on today's topic. Prayers for everyone. May everyone be well. Amen.
