Science of Innovation – My Favorite Invention
If there is actually something I am really grateful about, I will say it is the gift of science and technology. It has actually been able to transform a whole lot of things in our world and generally in my own life. Of course looking back to how our life is now and compare it to around 50 years ago, you will definitely agree with me that a whole lot of things have actually changed. For me, over the years, I have been able to witness a lot of new developments and innovation.
For me personally, there have been a lot of science innovation that has taken place but there is one that stood out for me and that is the innovation of internet. In fact I will say internet have been the greatest innovation that has happened in recent years. It has been able to make things that look impossible possible and have been able to transform a whole lot of things that we will never have wished will have been a reality.
With internet, it has opened doors for people most especially Nigerians because we can now maximise lot of privilege that internet offers to us. Do you know that without internet, there will not be any social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and lots more that we actually admire in this present world.
Another important and greatest innovation I really admire that science have been able to give us is the innovation of mobile phones which we call smartphones. Smartphones have drastically make our lives much more easier and better compared to many years ago and will still continue to be. With smartphones, you can send messages to people in distant locations which decades ago might take days or even weeks.
There is a lot of opportunities and businesses that have been built on the internet and not only internet but the use of smartphones. Sometimes I usually wonder what will our world be if smartphones were not actually created? Where will our world be if the internet were not created and lots more.
Looking at the state of my country Nigeria presently, if I have the opportunity to actually invent something, I will invent a technology that can actually give free and constant electricity to Nigerians. I must confess that one of the things affecting the growth and development of my country is the fact that the electricity is not really constant. We keep suffering from it and it has affected industry, affect standard of living and affect a whole lot of things. This is something that can birth a transformation beyond imagination.
For me personally, I am really optimistic that there will still be more scientific innovation coming up in the future and much more. For me personally, I believe that in the next 20 years, things will definitely change and get better. I am really optimistic about it. One of the things I have come to learn about innovation is the fact that it goes beyond technology, it is what transform our lives and world to become a much more better place to be.
