My Perspective About Apology Videos
We live in a digital world where everyone wants to find their relevance through the internet. Nobody wants to be missed out because we are in this digital age and it is actually definitely looking like everyone wants to be trending on the internet. Recently, there is a popular trend that I have noticed which have been happening and that is the fact that people are actually making apology videos on the internet.
In fact it is getting so popular now on tiktok that even though it started with celebrities, it is not limited to celebrities. Even our so called politicians are making use of the strategy now. Apology video been posted on the internet. What they make use of is their camera and also having some tears on their face, saying some speech and then facing the camera in order to get the sympathy of the internet world.
Well when apology videos started on the internet phase, they look so genuine but now that it is getting so rampant, it is looking less genuine. So many people making use of the apology video on the internet are just doing it for eye service or another strategy to protect their image. Not only that, I strongly believe people who commit an offence are making use of the apology video now to escape the offence they commit.
And for some internet users, they actually fall for those fake apology videos. And why a lot of internet users fall into that trap is because those people who make use of these apology videos always do so with these sense of sincerity that they fake. It might be in the language they used, the way they actually hide their own fault in the video and generally the way they display those emotions. But recently, it is getting so rampant and obvious that we as Nigerian for example can tell when someone is actually speaking from their heart or from their head alone.
I personally I believe there are something's to look into to see whether someone is truly sorry in his or her apology video. The first is not to pay attention to the tears flowing down the cheek of the person but actually to be able to see whether the person is transparent enough. A lot of fake apology videos out there I strongly believe they are not transparent enough. They seems to make it looks like they are the one innocent which is not always true.
I personally also believe that why we are having a lot of apology videos going on in the internet majorly in the aspect of fake apology videos is because we ourselves are giving these celebrities or influencers these images that they are better than us. We have idolised them so much that they believe anything they give to us, we will accept it. Not only that also, we have also made it look like their validation is in the internet which should not be so. For me, I am not saying apologies video should stopped but we should pay attention to how we accept some random apology videos on the internet.
The problem is we cannot tell apart being genuine from being fake in this our generation, people can act so well.
Thank you for coming by.
Excelente ensayo. Pedir disculpas no es fácil, sobre todo cuando las palabras son verdaderas. Me encantó leerte.
