Artificial Intelligence - A Major Warning from a Credible Source

In what is a stark warning to workers across the globe, Dario Amodei sounded the alarm bells of artificial intelligence's potential to take millions of jobs.

I read the Axios article "Behind the Curtains: A White-collar Bloodbath" and the a warning was pronounced. Dario Amodei, CEO of the artificial intelligence (AI) firm Anthropic spoke about the potential for AI to take millions of white-collar jobs. AI is a powerful tool that empowers employees to do more with less, which will eliminate the need for new and current employees.

Powerful AI tools including ChatGPT can do an amazing amount of work and entry-level employee demand is being impacted currently. Custom-made enterprise AI applications are taking many jobs that white-collar employees are employed to do. Even professions including lawyers and programmers can be replaced by AI that has been trained to replicate their skill set.

White-collar employees will face reductions in employment as companies embrace AI. We can help employees cope and even excel in a world where AI is present. Employees must take an entrepreneurial stance and use AI to their benefit. Employees can think of AI as a power saw or power drill that will empower them to do more work more accurately. It's no secret that companies love to save money and will cut where they can.

This is a major shift, and one we will need to address sooner rather than later. My industry is being impacted by AI automation and I am learning to work with and around AI for now.
