The first waitress robot

China is the first

Let's start by imagining that you arrive at a hotel and instead of the maid knocking on the door, a humanoid robot appears bringing clean towels, restocking the fridge, cleaning the bathroom and even organizing your belongings, yes that scene is already a reality at least in China.

A humanoid robot called Zerith H1 is beginning to transform the hospitality sector, taking on tasks ranging from cleaning toilets and sinks to vacuuming the floor and replenishing room amenities, all with cutting-edge artificial intelligence.

Beating Tesla's Optimus

Designed specifically for hotel environments, the Zerith H1 is unlike any other robot we've seen so far, while Tesla's Optimus is still trying to fold clothes, the H1 is already performing tasks in real rooms, where there is clutter, obstacles, furniture, even guests passing by, it moves with flexible universal wheels, can adjust the height of its body, bends to pick up objects from the floor and acts with the precision of an experienced human employee, only without needing to rest and without making mistakes.

What is impressive is that this robot goes beyond simply executing commands, it uses an intelligent spatial mapping system, understands the layout of the room and avoids colliding with furniture or even people, it can rearrange objects, place soaps in moments and open doors automatically to carry the garbage, all autonomously and the craziest thing is that the startup behind the Zerith H1 robot does not want to stop there, it is already planning future versions that interact with guests carrying towels, restocking minibars on command from an app, they even refresh the environment automatically when the guest leaves the room, that is, it seems that the future of hotel service will be a human-robot hybrid working side by side, at least for now.
