The first battery without fire and without explosion




New regulations to comply with.


A technology that still limits robots and electric vehicles quite a bit are batteries and in addition to the amount of autonomy there is the risk of them catching fire or exploding, and if we produced one that never explodes or lights up, even under extreme conditions.


That step is closer thanks to CALT, a Chinese battery giant that has just become the first company to comply with the new safety standard “no fire without explosion in the Asian country”, this is not only a technological milestone, it is a transformation for global safety in machines.


CALT has submitted its Qilin battery to inspection to obtain GB38031 -2025 certification, their new national mandatory form which comes into effect in July 2026, this battery is the third generation of CTP technology, Zelda Package and offers an impressive energy density of 255 WH per kilo, with a volume utilization rate of 72%.




It will be the trend of other manufacturers.


The tests involved extreme simulations, such as bottom impacts, fast charge cycles and short circuit tests, all to ensure that even in cases of thermal runaway the battery remains safe, without fire, explosion and without putting passengers at risk.


The Qilin has a stable charge support structure and an advanced overheat protection system, the focus goes beyond simple alerts, the battery is designed to physically withstand the most critical events, limiting thermal diffusion and reinforcing vulnerable areas such as the base of the vehicle and fast charging circuits that all employ advanced thermal monitoring and control algorithms, in addition to using real-time data to manage the performance and safety of the cells.

A breakthrough in Chinese automobile companies


This demonstrates how technology and integrated intelligence are becoming a fundamental part of automotive safety, with more than 18 million vehicles using Qilin batteries in the world, the practical application of this certification directly impacts brands such as ATO, Zcker Leuturo Xiaomi Nera and Lotus.


For the consumer this means more confidence in fast charging, less worry about accidents and greater battery durability even in severe conditions, Qilin not only reached a regulatory milestone paved the way to a new level of safety in machines that use batteries.
