It is not the first bacteria found on a space station and the conditions are not more or less different from those on Earth. Some are different, such as microgravity and perhaps a little more radiation, due to the cosmic radiation that reaches the space station.
This bacteria lives inside the Chinese space station, which in the end is a bubble that reproduces the conditions of the terrestrial environment. The Chinese have published their research like everyone else in scientific journals, specifically on March 3, what the Chinese have found is a bacteria called niallia tiangongenesis, which is a variant or evolution of a terrestrial bacteria. In other words, it is not a new bacteria, it is a terrestrial bacteria that they took unintentionally or intentionally or inside the luggage to the Chinese space station and there it evolved under conditions that were a little different than the terrestrial ones.
It must be taken into account that both the Chinese and the international space stations carry out periodic surveys to find out what bacteria there are and how they evolve, because this is important because they could become a danger to the crew.
In April 2024, it was reported that NASA had discovered a drug-resistant bacteria on the international space station. It seems that in the microgravity and in the artificial environment of a space station, bacteria evolve more quickly than on Earth and this is something dangerously worrying because it could be the case, for example, that future manned missions that last several years, for example, to Mars or a mission to the moons of Jupiter, even if they have these plasma propulsion engines with a nuclear fusion reactor that are being developed, a mission to Jupiter is going to last several years, it may turn out that on their return they come with some bacteria that has mutated into something extremely dangerous.
