Daily Poetry Challenge 4: GOODBYE PAST, HELLO FUTURE (Original Poem)

Hello Friends,

There are many things to hold unto

One of them isn't your past
Though you may not want to
But you have to let it go fast

Press that button of delete

Forget the images that trouble you
Rise up from your previous defeats
Go to God to cuddle you

Look ahead, there is light at the end

Its not over until you win the race
Life will not be straight, it may bend
But those that will finish it must keep the pace

Today is the key to your future

Are you living now or down?
Gather your pieces together and suture
Eventually, everything you have been through will count!

The inspiration for this poem was from my last day as a youth corp member in Nigeria. I got my certificate. Its giving me an opportunity to think things through and face a new future. One phase of my life is done and dusted. Wooo$!!! I'm going to use this entry for the Poetry Contest Wk 1 by @mahdiyari
