Morning and Evening Beauties!
A rare sight as a second 24 hour "Echinopsus Cactus" flower opened overnight!
Come and spend a day with my camera and let's have a look at what we can get.
This is our first post in this new frontend and we are hoping that it will be welcomed.
The day started as a bleary morning due to light cloud cover and the sun struggled to peep through the clouds, but it was also a good day for photography.
We were so excited to see the two flowers as in the recent past we only had one at a time. The flowers sadly only last for a day, but a day is enough to show us their supreme beauty.
Let's have a look!
This is the flower at the left in the flower pot.
And here we have the flower at the right. They are named as cactus flowers and you can see their thorny bases!
Here we have a Fruit Chafer bug that came to say good morning!
Look at the stunning detail and colors of this beautiful insect!
I had to watch the Thrush at the bird bath because if he sees the fruit chafer bug the bug will be history!
As I said, it was a bleary morning!
But these halos around the sun are messengers of bad weather that we will have soon!
They say that the fires in Australia are changing the weather patterns and I think that it will have some effect on the weather here in South Africa. Of course, we pray that Australia will get rain soon, to help with the fires!
Another shot behind a different tree, of the halo!
Now we move into the late afternoon and the start of the sunset!
A pair of doves silhouetted against the darkening sky!
Slowly, as the sun was setting, the clouds took on some lovely golden colors!
Ever darker, and ever more beautiful as the day gradually draws to a close!
And finally a closer look at the colors!
We have recently had some strange tornados in different areas of the country, and many floods also occurred in other parts. Yet there are areas that have not seen rain for about 8 years, and they are as dry as tinder. They were recently declared as disaster areas, and the farmers face extreme difficulties.
Perhaps nature is angry with the way mankind has treated her, as severe conditions seem to be striking all over the world.
We have to learn that time is precious, and if we don't change our ways and start looking after nature and people very little will be left for our children and their children. Sadly, we continue with life as if there are no tomorrows. Ocean life is suffering under the plastic loads of rubbish, oil leaks and other chemical contaminants continue to be spilled into dams and rivers, and killing the life inside those dams and rivers; and yet it seems that we do not care. Almost like mankind is in a permanent form of denial. So long as they can make money. Money called progress.
We sincerely hope that sanity will start to prevail, as nature is essential to our lives.
We hope that you enjoyed the pictures, and thank you for visiting a blog by @papilloncharity

Amazing photos! Specially the ones with the scarab. I love those!!! I mean the shots... not the bugs. 😝
Hahaha, thank you Sir, I love the scarabs as they are good to practice my shots.
Not as fast as the dragonflies, but nice slow shots Lol.
Blessings!

The cactus flower! So jealous! I have that looks like yours, but it didn't bloom for me yet. Grew it from seed. Hope it will look like yours. So pretty :)
Hopefully your will look even more beautiful my dear friend.
They are gone now as I looked first thing this morning and they remind me so much about how fleeting life is.
If only we would display such beauty in our own lives before we are gone.
Blessings and thank you.
I have the same kind of cactus at home and yes it's flowers are so beautiful!
Glad that you also have them my friend.
Amazing beauty in their flowers.
Blessings!
Wow! Your photos are stunning! :)
Thank you for the kind words my friend.
Blessings!

OMG! Such beautiful shots.Stunning.
Money is considered to be progress. It's so terribly misguided.
But we have you, so there is hope.
Oh wow! You certainly place me on a pedestal where I don't belong my friend.
I keep repeating that if we all just do little things for others, this world will become a better place.
Those that chase the false money god will always discover their folly when they sit in the ashes of his rewards.
In the meantime life goes on and we have to do what we can.
Blessings and thank you!
Howdy sir papilloncharity! So many great photos again. Do you use a macro lens to get photos of bugs like that?
Greetings Sir @janton, thank you and I use a Canon Powershot SX60.
It has a single fixed lens connected to an ultra zoom and the camera has many settings for the same lens. Macro, Sports, Low Light, Portraits, Landscapes and many others. It also has video and wi-fi.
Blessings!
Howdy today sir papilloncharity! Well that camera sounds wonderful and I bet you use all the different settings too!
Moods in the sky have been stunning of late up here as well, many creatures big and small coming out with rains.
Yes taking care of our world is critical, the impact is more evident wherever you look with nature in an uproar.
Yep! The rains will be sure to flush them out Lady Joan.
I noticed a new big hole here in the garden near the bedroom window, so keeping an eye on it but nothing yet. Maybe will have to do a night watch to see what lives in there. Not a mole as they cover their entrances and I think it might be a huge rain spider.
Nature is certainly very angry!
Blessings!
Holes and Moles, never underestimate them! Rain spiders are entertaining to watch.
Great rhyming here Lady Joan (holes and moles)
I have this dream of seeing the biggest spider ever crawling out of that hole Lol.
Blessings!
Those are gorgeous flowers! Glad you shared them with us here!(the fruit chafer has his own beauty too!)
Also beautiful shots of the sunset and halo - loved the shot with the silhouette of the doves!
Thanks for sharing and I too, hope that sanity soon starts to prevail and we can all start living more harmoniously with nature!
As humans we seem to be happy in the name of progress to poison the glass of water that we drink from my friend.
The technology beast has no use for nature except for its hosting of their signal towers and many a child is being indoctrinated in its offerings.
These technological doctrines include mainly progress and popularity encased in neat exiting lures for children and nature is simply ignored.
The world will as usual wake up too late!
Blessings and thank you!
