Achievement 3 by @mustafa001 Task: Content Etiquette
Hello Community Friends!
I'm happy to be back here with you all. Today, I want to talk about Achievement Task 3 which is all about Steemit content rules.
Why Rules Are Important
Just like in real life, rules help keep Steemit a fair and positive place for everyone. They make sure people share original work and respect each other.
What is Plagiarism?
Answer:
Plagiarism is the act of using someone else work whether it is text, images, or ideas without giving proper credit.
Types of Plagiarism:
- Complete Plagiarism : Copying an entire work word-for-word.
- Direct Plagiarism : Using parts of someone’s content without citation.
- Self-Plagiarism : Reusing your own previously published work.
- Mosaic Plagiarism : Mixing copied content without proper references.
- Accidental Plagiarism : Unintentional copying (common among beginners).
According to Oxford Languages plagiarism means:
"Presenting someone else's work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement."

How to Avoid PLAGIARISM:
Plagiarism is bad. It means using someone else work as your own. Here is how to make original content:
- Learn First, Write Later.
- Study the topic well.
- Understand it fully before writing.
Make notes in your simple words
- Use Your Own Words.
- Don't copy sentences.
- Explain ideas like you're teaching a friend.
- Add your own examples.
Using Quotes :
Quotes are a good way to use someone else words without copying. When you find the perfect words that explain your point you can:
- Put the exact words "in quotation marks"
- Always say who said/wrote them
- Tell where you found them
Example:
If you're writing about motivation, you might use this famous quote:
"The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing." Walt Disney
What is a Citation?
A citation is when you give credit to the person or website where you found information.
Example:
If you write about education and want to use this famous quote:
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
— Nelson Mandela Source
How to do it right:
✔ Put the exact words "in quotes"
✔ Name who said it (Nelson Mandela)
✔ Share where you found it (goodreads.com)
