Task: Content Etiquette
Steemit is a my favourite blockchain platform! Why? It rewards content creation. The platform is awesomely incentivizing both to the content creators and readers.
However, it requires thinking and coming up with something educative and insightful using your brain or citing a work already done by others. The platform is very keen about recognizing the owners of pictures or ideas used in your content on the platform.
What is plagiarism?
Plagiarism is the the practice of taking someone else work or ideas and passing them off as one's own.source
How Do I Cite other People's Work in My content?
When I want to cite an exact definition or statement of another person in my content, I must use quotation marks or formatted using markup. Afterwards, the source (page) where the idea, text, statement or definition is lifted from is cited correctly.
If many sources are used in the content creation, they must be all cited separately to avoid plagiarism.
Why do we need to cite our sources as steemit users?
Originality and quality of contents is highly and remarkably encouraged on the platform, no matter what the content is, be it picture, text or image.
