Talking about agriculture, irrigation sources are classified into natural and artificial types. Natural sources include rainwater, which is the most common, rivers and streams that can be redirected, lakes and ponds for water storage, and groundwater accessed through wells.

Then Artificial sources consist of canals that channel water from rivers or reservoirs, drip irrigation for direct root water delivery, sprinkler systems that mimic rain, surface irrigation that entail blanketing with lakes, and materials irrigation that submerge canals below ground.

The source of irrigation is influenced by several factors. These include the local climate, the type of crops being grown, the availability of water resources, and the costs associated with different options. The different factors that influence the choice of the best irrigation routine. These factors must be considered to ensure effective water use and crop growth. Farmers also evaluate these factors to choose the best irrigation method for their needs.
