From Positivity towards Dancefloor Rap

The fabulous @flipstar created that lovely RapThursday thing - and I actually wanted to write sth around positivity for @jaki01 but my limitted time just made me do some fun music community stuff - here some cool Eurotrash Dance music from the 1990ies where the entire old continent was crazy for Techno sounds linked to US male singers (mainly ex GIs) rapping to these beats which resulted in the genre "Euro Trash" - some of the famous ones I have to admit I like still are in the following.

Hard to understand this header - I might tell soon why the song is based on my sporty skills! Snap started with strange sounds but came up with perfect tunes to support a part of my young career! Production in Darmstadt, 30 kilometres from my home, we partied over 6 years - perfect Rap Techno crossover production!

Captain Hollywood Project

My favourite project of this Rap - Dance Genre for sure!

Captain Hollywood Project is a German eurodance music project best known for the hits “More and More," "Only with You" and "Flying High." At the peak of its success in the 1990s, the project achieved ten top-20 hits on European music charts. The project was first formed in 1990 in Nuremberg, Germany by rapper/singer, dancer and music producer Tony Dawson-Harrison (a.k.a. Captain Hollywood). When first naming the project, Harrison chose the name 'Captain Hollywood Project' in order to distinguish his new music for the project from his music from previous years. He also chose the name to give himself the creative freedom as executive producer to involve any singer, songwriter or producer of his choice when producing each of the new songs for the project. Even though the act has been viewed as a one-man act starring Harrison as the rapper/frontman, an ensemble of female backup singers, dancers and backing musicians have been traditionally included in the act by Harrison. Today, Captain Hollywood Project is recognized as a live performing duo act starring Harrison and singer/dancer Shirin von Gehlen (a.k.a. Shirin Amour) as the project's lead singer and frontwoman. Together with their live musicians and dancers, Harrison and von Gehlen perform the Captain Hollywood Project hits year-round at concert venues in the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, Russia and Australia.

2 Unlimited is a dance act founded by Belgian producers Jean-Paul De Coster and Phil Wilde in 1991 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Dutch rapper Ray Slijngaard and Dutch vocalist Anita Doth fronted the act from 1991 to 1996. During the five years of 2 Unlimited's worldwide mainstream success, the act scored a total of 16 chart hits, including "Get Ready for This", "Twilight Zone", "No Limit", and "Tribal Dance". They have sold 18 million records worldwide. Although they enjoyed less mainstream recognition in the United States, many of their songs have become popular themes at American sporting events, particularly in the NHL and the NBA.

Culture Beat

Culture Beat is a German Eurodance project formed in 1989 by Torsten Fenslau. The act has gone through a number of line-up changes over the years; they achieved the most success whilst fronted by singer Tania Evans and rapper Jay Supreme. Their 1993 single "Mr. Vain" was a number-one hit in eleven European countries, and the act is thought to have sold more than 10 million records worldwide. Check the dance visual version
