Music Focused on Sound Design

When people ask me what kind of music I make I hesitate to answer them "I make Electronic Music".
I think there are many people out there that are turned off by the term "Electronic Music" as they associate it with the mainstream dance music that is now dominating the market.
For some musicians Electronic Music is not even considered to be music.

One might be surprised to find out that Electronic Music has a long history and is older then you might expect.
Some earlier forms of Electronic Music can be found in the 30's in the form of Musique concrète

The phonogene was a machine capable of modifying sound structure significantly and it provided composers with a means to adapt sound to meet specific compositional contexts.

Where Electronic Music shines for me is that it has the ability to sound different then the acoustic musical instruments we have grown accustomed listening to.
We can use electronic instruments as a tool to sculpt new sounds that are impossible to make with analogue instruments.
I appreciate music that challenges my ears and challenges my production skills. In some cases I consider it to be something like electronic jazz music.

With my blog I hope to be able to make a small contribution to the Electronic Music scene and help promote and grow interest for an ever expanding and evolving art form.
From music that pushes the boundaries of what man can do with a machine to binaural music that targets specific brainwave patterns to alter consciousness or a mix of both. There is a universe of sound out there waiting to be explored by sound designers and musicians.

I will try to cover a broad range of music with focus on sound design.
Instead of getting into genre's (boxes) I will let the music do the talking.
