Readings for middle- and high-school boys: Jack London's "The Call of the Wild"

For boys (6th grade through 11th grade) who don't read beyond school assignments, try Jack London's "The Call of the Wild." It is the story of the trials, tribulations, and joys of Buck, a 140 lbs dog stolen from his master's home in Santa Clara California. Buck's imposed travels take him to the Klondike region of Canada during the late 19th-century gold rush.
