Landmark day for Saudi women as kingdom's controversial driving ban ends this sunday

On this sunday Saudi driving ban lifted after 30 years. women are protesting to remove the ban from last 30 years but there hard work pay them now. This can boost country economi too.

The move is expected to boost women's employment, and according to a Bloomberg estimate, add $90 billion to economic output by 2030.

"This is a great achievement," billionaire Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal said as his daughter Reem drove a family SUV, with his granddaughters applauding from the back seat

Samar Almogren, a talkshow host and writer, said: “I always knew this day would come. But it came fast. Sudden. I feel free like a bird.”

Saudi Arabian Ministry of Interior has received more than 120,000 applications for driving licenses so far.

Six specialized driving schools have been issued licenses to train women in driving in five cities across the Kingdom.

Twenty-two centers have been opened in 22 cities and governorates to exchange foreign driving licenses for local ones for Saudi female citizens and residents.
