Conquering Mount Pil-Onon; Everyone's Greatest Challenge

Let me share with you my greatest achievement last night, May 12, 2025. I conquered Mount Pil-Onon which was located in our house, particularly in our room.

Mount Pil-onon is neither a mountain nor a place but a huge pile of newly washed clothes which awaits my attention for folding.

We are a family of five and my eldest daughter is 10 years old, my second daughter is 7 years old and I have a son of 5 years old. My husband and I were almost always not at home due to work and we both could not see to it that the things in house are well arranged. We feel very tired at our arrival from work and we prioritize to give our attention to our kids than do the chores that needs to be done that is why the newly washed clothes that were not folded accumulated.

Well its not all newly washed clothes but also the clothes that were folded but messed hy the kids when they get clothes to wear

overcoming the Pile

As I transfered the clothes from the rack and chair, I realized that we had too much clothes but what I always wear 6 days a week is juts the uniforms, funny, right?

I honestly heard about the minimalistic way of living but I couldn't just apply it to our house since there are three kids and they tend to changes clothes often than we adults do. Thinking to fold these clothes were overwhelming especially that I was alone but I did it tired, I did it overwhelmed and I did it with courage and finally at 9:44 pm last night, I was able to finish the chore and it felt very satisfying.

what makes our burden heavier

I know I am not the only one that is burdened with this chore, even doing the laundry is a huge challenge for me as well. Stress in my everyday work makes me feel weak and tired emotionally and psychologically and it's very hard to overcome them.

What's more hurting about this challenge is that we mothers who work hard to make things organized and then when tome comes that the other family.members are in a rush in finding clothes to wear, they just pull out clothes and messing everything we worked hard for.

I juts hope that out efforts will be seen and appreciated.

I'm very glad to have finished this yesterday, and to me it felt like I conquered a huge mountain in my life.
