The Diary Game | 23rd of July 2025 | Challenging day spent well
Hello dear Friends...!
I hope you are doing well...
It was a restless night for all three of us. Vihan had caught the flu and was really struggling to fall asleep. Seeing him so uncomfortable made me feel helpless and sad. I stayed up with him for most of the night, sponging his little body and giving him his baby medicine at regular intervals. It helped a bit, but not enough to bring him real comfort. I kept checking his temperature, and though it was a mild fever, I knew we had to see a doctor.
First thing in the morning, I booked an appointment, and luckily, we got one around 9:00 a.m. Until then, I tried offering Vihan some of his favorite foods, but he didn’t want anything; he just had a few cookies.
Even with the appointment, we had to wait nearly two and a half hours to see the doctor. Vihan was completely drained and fell asleep on his dad’s shoulder while we waited. Finally, it was our turn. The doctor examined him well and confirmed it was a mild fever, then prescribed the necessary medication.
Usually, giving medicine to Vihan isn’t too difficult, but today it was a real challenge. I could see how unwell he felt. Once we got home, I sponged him again, changed his clothes, and gently put him to sleep. I was fully exhausted by then; the sleepless night, the hot sun, and the worry had all caught up with me.
I lay down beside him and got a little rest too. Thankfully, Vihan slept for a few good hours and woke up late in the evening. His fever had gone down by then, but he still seemed a bit sick and needed more rest. I made him his favourite bread toast with some fresh strawberries, and he slowly nibbled on them while watching cartoons.
Later in the evening, we got a call from one of my elder cousin sisters. She said she’d be visiting us and joined us for dinner. After finishing up Vihan’s tasks and settling him for the night, I wanted to collect his homework from school so we all went for a short walk together. It felt nice and refreshing after such a draining day. We chatted about so many things and caught up on each other’s lives.
After coming back home, I helped my Mom prepare everything for our sister’s stay. Vihan was already sound asleep by then, resting peacefully after taking his medicine.
And just like that, the day came to an end; it wasn’t easy, but I’m thankful for the strength to care for Vihan and the lovely connection I could make with my loved ones.
