Continuation of my Evening Lesson with UbongAbasi

Sunday, July 6th, was supposed to be a relaxing day for me but for the task I had, I couldn't make my alarm off. After attending church service in the morning, I retreated to my room for a short nap. Refreshed and rejuvenated, my alarm woke me up in the afternoon, ready to tackle my evening lesson with UbongAbasi, my landlord's son.

We had been studying Health Talk in Basic Science, and the day's topic was particularly important: Classes of Food. I wanted to make sure UbongAbasi understood the different types of nutrients that our bodies need to stay healthy.

I began by writing the six classes of food on the blackboard: carbohydrate, protein, fat and oil, mineral, vitamin, and water. I took my time explaining each one, making sure UbongAbasi grasped the concepts. He listened intently, and was curious as usual to learn.

As I finished my explanation, I assigned UbongAbasi some classwork. I asked him to list the six classes of food we had just discussed. He set to work, as I turned the board to prevent him from looking. He started answering the questions on his exercise book.

When he finished, I reviewed his work, and a big smile spread across my face. He had gotten all six classes correct! UbongAbasi beamed with pride as I marked his book with red biro pen.

One thing that gives teachers joy is seeing your student performing well in class work, test or in examination. It is the student's performance that makes tutoring so rewarding. UbongAbasi is making progress and his father had been testifying of his progress and improving ever since I started the evening lesson with him.

Slowly but surely, It took patience and dedication to teach children to their understanding, but I'm always committed to helping children learn and grow. As we wrapped up our lesson, I felt a sense of satisfaction. I am committed to making a difference in UbongAbasi's life, and this is all the motivation I need to keep going.

Thank you for reading my post, I appreciate your time.
