Topic 1: Should you give your all when the other person isn't willing to do anything for you?

My name is @maxub It’s the 5th week of Season 24, and I'm deeply honored to share this reflection. This week’s question touched something very personal.

Once Upon a Time...

There was a woman named Nora, a close friend of mine. She was the kind of soul who gave endlessly with love, time, and patience. She fell deeply in love with a man named Dapo. At first, everything seemed magical.

Nora would cook for him, help him with his business, cover for his debts, even set aside her own dreams just to support him.

But Dapo gave nothing in return no encouragement, no emotional presence, not even the courtesy of honesty.

Eventually, she found out he had been cheating for years. Yet she still tried to fix things, believing love was about endurance.

She gave her all, and he gave nothing.

Until one day, she woke up broken but brave. She left, healed, and is now thriving as a motivational speaker.

Question 1: Is giving your all a mistake?

Giving everything is not a mistake when it’s mutual. In a healthy relationship, both parties contribute emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. But giving your all when the other person gives nothing becomes self-sacrifice, not love. Love should build, not destroy.

Question 2: Does giving everything make you vulnerable to hurt?

Yes. When you give your all without limits or boundaries, people can exploit that kindness. Some people take advantage of love, mistaking it for weakness. That's why self-respect should never be a trade-off for affection.

🌱 My Reflection:

Giving should be balanced. It is not about keeping score but about mutual growth. Love that costs your peace, identity, and worth is too expensive.

🌟 Phrase that Applies:

“Never pour from a cup that leaves you empty.”

Let’s not lose ourselves trying to keep others whole. True love doesn't drain it flows from both sides.
