Yes for me, honesty is always the best policy in relationships

Honesty is a root of every strong and long time relationship. Whether it is between husband and wife, parents and children or friends. Honesty builds trust, love and peace. When we are main true with our loved ones, we give them confidence that we are dependable. I truly believe that honesty is always the best policy in any relationship.

Let me share a simple real life story.

Once my friend Sidra had been married for two years. She was a good woman, but one day she faced a financial crisis. Instead of hiding the problem from his husband, she sat down and told him everything honestly. Her husband appreciated her truthfulness. Together, they planned how to cut down on expenses and improve their situation. If Sidra had lied or hidden the truth, her husband may have found out from someone else and lost trust in him. But because she chose honesty, their relationship became more stronger.

Honesty does not only mean speaking the truth, it also being open about your feelings, needs and problems. When couples hide their emotions, misunderstandings begin to grow. But when they talk openly, even the toughest problems can be solved easily.

Pros of honesty:👍

• Honesty builds trust, when we are honest, our partner feels secure. He/she know you won’t hide anything important.
• Honest conversations increase love and understanding. Partners become emotionally closer.
• Honesty solves problems faster without any fear. When the truth is on the table, the focus goes to solving the issue instead of guessing what went wrong.

• Honesty reduces stress and make smile on face. Hiding lies and secrets creates stress. Honest gives peace of mind and a clean heart.
• We can sets a good example by being honest. In families, children learn from parents. Honest behavior teaches kids to speak the truth and value of trust.

Cons of honesty:👎

• Harsh truth can hurt to other, as I listen that "truth is bitter". Truth can be painful and hurt our feelings. For example, if listener is not emotionally ready to hear truth, it can hurt him deeply.
  -Sometime, we avoid be honest because of fear that their partner will judge or leave them.
• There is a risk of conflict by honesty . Some truths can lead to arguments and sometimes breakups, especially when the relationship is already weak.
• Everyone not appreciate to being honest. Some friends say they like honesty, but when they hear the reality, they get angry.

• But even with these cons, I still strongly believe honesty is better than lies. A short tears is better than a life long lie.

Rejection is better than fake promise.
If truth causes a problem today, it can save a relationship tomorrow.
Relationships are like plants. They need sunlight, water and care to grow. Honesty is the sunlight, without it, the plant of love dies slowly in the shadow of lies.

In conclusion, no matter how difficult seem, honesty is always the best policy in relationships. It is not always be easy, but it always leads to clarity, peace and a strong relationship. If we all practice truthfulness with kindness and wisdom, our relationships will surely blossom.
