Morning – Preparing for a Salon Day
This morning felt different from my usual routine because I had already decided to spend the whole day at the salon. The moment I opened my eyes, I could already picture the buzz of hairdryers, the scent of hair products, and the chatter of people inside the salon.
I got up slowly, stretched, and whispered a short prayer of gratitude. Before starting the day, I made myself a warm cup of tea. It was simple, just milk tea, but I enjoyed every sip. There’s something about tea in the morning it feels like a gentle hug to your stomach. While sipping, I thought about how much time I would likely spend at the salon today and reminded myself to be patient.
Morning tea – my soft start before a long day ☕
After tea, I tidied my room, folded a few clothes, and arranged my things neatly. I didn’t want to leave the house messy since I would be gone for hours. Around mid-morning, I had an early lunch to prepare myself for the long salon stay. I didn’t want to get hungry halfway and start rushing.
By 11:00 AM, I was ready to leave. I packed my small bag with essentials phone, charger, a little snack, and some money. As I stepped out, I felt both excited and slightly anxious. Excited because I was about to give myself a new look, but anxious because, as anyone who visits salons knows, you can easily spend the entire day waiting for your turn
afternoon Activities.
Afternoon My Long Hours in the Salon
When I arrived at the salon, the atmosphere was exactly as I had imagined. The sound of blow-dryers hummed constantly, people were chatting, some were laughing, and hairstylists moved around busily. The place smelled of hair cream, sprays, and sometimes the sharpness of relaxer.
I greeted the stylists, found a seat, and patiently waited for my turn. Waiting in salons always feels like a mini-drama. Some people complain about time, others talk about hairstyles, and some share their life stories loudly enough for everyone to hear. I listened to a few conversations and couldn’t help smiling at the gossip and laughter around me.
After a while, it was finally my turn. I explained to the stylist what I wanted, and she nodded confidently. As she worked, I could feel the gentle tug of combs, the coolness of hair cream on my scalp, and the buzz of the dryer nearby. It wasn’t just about the hairstyle it was about self-care, about dedicating time to myself.
Hours passed slowly, and by mid-afternoon, I was still in the chair. I took a break to eat a small snack I had carried, then stretched my legs before sitting back again. Watching the mirror, I could see the transformation happening gradually. That’s one of the beautiful things about salon days: you enter looking ordinary but leave feeling renewed.
Work in progress – transformation on the way
The salon continued to buzz with activity. Children cried as their mothers tried to braid their hair, young ladies compared hairstyles on their phones, and some even dozed off while getting their braids done. I found myself laughing at little moments, like when one stylist teased another about how long she was taking.
By the time my hair was finally done, it was already late in the afternoon. I touched my hair gently, turned my head side to side, and admired the result in the mirror. A wave of satisfaction washed over me it was worth all the hours of sitting.
New hair, new mood, new confidence
Evening Activities.
Evening – Tired but Treated
When I stepped out of the salon, the evening sky was already turning golden. My legs felt heavy from sitting for so long, and my body was tired. The only thing on my mind was food and rest. Cooking was the last thing I wanted to do I didn’t even have the energy to wash rice or cut vegetables.
Instead, I decided to treat myself. I stopped by a nearby food spot and bought some chicken and ice cream. The thought of enjoying something cold and sweet after such a long day was comforting. With my small takeaway pack in hand, I headed home.
Tired bones, happy soul – reward after a long salon day 🍗🍦.”
At home, I quickly changed into something comfortable and settled down with my food. Every bite of the chicken was satisfying, and the ice cream was the perfect soft ending. I didn’t even bother watching TV for long I just ate, smiled at my new hair in the mirror, and stretched out to relax.
Later, I washed my face, took a short bath, and prepared for bed. My body was exhausted, but my heart was happy. The day may have been long, but it felt worth it. Sometimes, self-care isn’t about big things; it’s about giving yourself a day to refresh and enjoy something as simple as a hairstyle.
Before closing my eyes, I whispered a small prayer of thanks for strength, for beauty, and for the little joys that make life colorful.
🌌 Conclusion
Looking back, today was a day dedicated to self-care. From my morning tea to the long salon hours and finally rewarding myself with chicken and ice cream, it was all about me. Spending the whole day at the salon wasn’t easy it required patience, but it also gave me satisfaction and a renewed sense of confidence.
• Morning gave me peace and preparation.
• Afternoon gave me transformation and laughter in the salon.
• Evening gave me rest, food, and gratitude.
