"SLC-S25/W4 | Date And Nut Bars"

Greetings beautiful people and welcome once again. I am excited be be here for another beautiful week of engagement with learning how to make great desserts. The weeks so far has been great and here is my work for this weeks class.

Make the given recipe in detail with step by step pictures. Include your name tag with the date at the final presentation of the recipe.

This week we made dates and nuts bar and it was an exciting time for me as I explored new horizon to my dessert making journey.

The ingredients I used includes

Roasted nuts
Dates
Honey
Dark chocolate
Salt

Procedure

Step 1: I took a clean bowl and added the dates to it and removes the pitts in the middle.

Step 2: I put the roasted peanuts into the blender and blender them.

Step 3: I proceeded to add the dates to the blender too and blended them together.

Step 4: I added salt and honey to the mixture and blended them together until it was throughly mixed.

Step 5: I molded the blended mixture into bars like in the picture.

Step 6: I then proceeded to add my dark chocolates into a plate and melted in though double bathing.

Step 7: I then used the chocolates to coat the bars like in the picture.

Step 8: I added extras nuts on top and then allowed it to refrigerate for sometime to set.

My date bars were delicious and ready to be eaten.

Yes dates are very much available in my country and they are affordable. They are sold on the streets and markets and can be readily obtainable.

Date is a very important ingredients in this date and nuts dessert because of the key role it played. Here are some importance of dates in the dessert:

• Date is a natural sweetener and hence helps to sweeten the dessert without having to add artificial sweeteners.

• ⁠Date is full of nutrients and a good source of fiber, antioxidants and potassium.

• ⁠Dates also serve as a binding agent and helps to bind the ingredients together.

• ⁠It helps to augument the rich flavor of the dessert.

• ⁠Dates are a good source of energy and hence helps to boost energy and therefore good for dessert making.
