Music || Singing "For You" — Teno ft Davido

in Knack4buzz13 days ago (edited)

I'm here again to sing another song but this particular song would be Nigerian. Nigerian songs are very much vibby and entertaining. Any song that get released, Nigerians would bring up a dance that suits the tone and beats. Without further ado, I'm a Nigerian and the song is a mixture of English and Nigerian Pidgin English. The title of the song is For you. These are other specifications.

Teni and Davido are good Nigerian artiste with so much fame because of their songs. Their songs have caught the attention of many coupled with the beats and voices used. This collaboration in For you was a perfect one. The chemistry, the voice and harmony in tone made me listen to the song over and over again. What's so fascinating about the song is that different genders sung the song and the lyrics of the song fit in perfectly.

For you is a song sung to emphasize a man's proposal to a lady. He promised to give her the world and everything he has for her happiness. Let's take the lyrics bit by bit so I'll explain the pidgin lines.

Lyrics

12 Am in the morning, I still dey wait for your call. No do me like this oh. Cause I don dey wait, I don dey wait since oh. And I still dey pray, I still dey pray since.

This line places emphasis on the man being concerned and worried that the lady has promised to give him feedback to confirm his love but he hasn't seen any call since. His love for this girl is so solid that he even makes it a matter of prayer. He expresses his worry by saying the girl shouldn't treat him like this by keeping him in suspense. He has been awake all night to receive the promised call from the love of his life.

All my Ego na for you. All my Raba na for you. All the motor for my garage for you

He promise the girl to take care of her needs and wants by saying that all his Ego which means money is for her. All the cars in his garage would be for her. He promise her the world to show how much he love this girl. Most ladies today want a man that would take care of their needs and expenses and not a man that would make her feel she's single and lacking.

So the "For you" expression implies he's ready to give everything to the girl if only she would love him. He put his life on the line because he love this girl. This is the girl he wants to spend the rest of his life with and show the entire world to.

He even expressed it in song by saying he won't show her Wayo. Wayo in Nigeria means deceit or a lie. You promise her love and money then when you marry her, you eventually change. You're not the same person that promised her your world. He said he won't do this. The official video shows her In prison and how Davido risked his life to save her because of how much he love her.

Have you ever been in love? How do you convince a lady to love you? Do you use your money, sweet words, care etc to do so? Most men go to the extent of starving themselves if they don't get loved in return. You'll see rich men being rejected by some people they actually love them the poor would be seen with these women eventually. What do you have to offer as a man? Do you have intentions of giving the person you want to marry your world? I've not been in a relationship before and can't directly say I've made such promise to any lady or girl till that time comes. So I tried singing this song using the harmonies of the man and the woman together.

Singing For you by Teni

I actually thought of ways to sing this song to produce a good rhythm but then, it's my treble voice I needed to combine with Bass to signify the two genders singing this song. I started with treble which Teni sang. She's good at singing Teni but I couldn't meet up her voice that's why I just had to be more feminine with my voice. It was difficult to use teno, alto or Bass for this song as I don't have the voice for these. I'm just good at Treble and most times Alto when singing masculine parts. So instead of using Bass, I used Alto which seems deeper in a sense.

I started solo with the treble voice and then sung the man's part with an alto voice. I just love the harmony. I tried doing a cappella, singing without inclusion of the song's tone to aid my singing. This is my second time doing a cappella after singing one in Spanish. What really helped me sing this song was the composure and focus on harmonizing.

This was actually my first time trying harmonizing the lyrics. I did it when I sang Cos i don dey wait oh. I extended the lyrics with a solo voice without singing the latter part of the song after the first part lyrics. I did the same for the lyrics that followed. The switch from treble to alto wasn't that perfect but I tried my best to switch while maintaining momentum and keeping my pace in touch with my voice changes.

I wasn't that good in singing the rap part no matter how hard I tried. I just harmonized that place with the aid of my headset which gave me the beatings to keep in touch with voice changes and the rap part. Rate my singing. I know it's quite different from other vocalists but I'm trying and will keep trying. This is my own synergy and voice.

This is the next song I'm going to sing — Uyo Meyo by Teni.

I dedicate this song to my mother because all my Ego would definitely be for her. She's the reason why I'm alive today to be called @bossj23. I'd love to challenge some female Nigerians to see For you. Let music give you that better life you always deserve.

I am trying to understand your synergy in soloing a duet song, that really amazing trying to combine different tones, if you didnt upload a video i would have thought the deep tenor voice was from someone you feature maybe a friend.

I am Looking forward to see Uyo meyo, but this time i think you need to feature this with @whitie, or me but i need to learn the lyrics. Fix a date @bossj23

Friday during Matriculation

Sharp one, let me go and learn the lyrics

Yeah. We can use voice notes on WhatsApp

In a video call? Or voice call are we going to merge it?, how about we create a separate video singing our parts of the song then merge it

Ohkay. But we'll need to sing it live for the chemistry to be heard

What is the title of the song sang by so called Davido

Are you a fan of teni

You remind me of a few people...

You started great and you can definitely improve this, It's not easy to do two voices in turn at the same time (without mixing) and this song can make it possible with a bit more practising.

I have no idea what the real song is like, if you mentioned it in a former post it would be could to add the link.

For now all I can say: A great job, you have my vote and a resteem!
