Today I want to share a wonderful story of travel with you. I hope you enjoy it.

Due to Sumon’s illness, Ripon went to Dhaka with him, and both Ankon and Rahul were already in Dhaka. That’s why I didn’t enjoy roaming around alone. In our area, only Raihan and Raju were around. But Raihan was so busy with his family business that his presence didn’t really count, and Raju was occupied with some family matters as well. As a result, I felt really lonely. I used to call Ripon almost every day, asking, “When will you return? Everyone is so busy; nothing is getting done without you. Time is passing so slowly.” Ripon told me, “Bro, I’ll be back tomorrow. Arrange a band party at the railway station—I’m coming home after so long.” So, I replied, “Alright, we’ll definitely go to the station to receive you.” The next day, around 3 PM, I called Raju and asked if he was free. Raju said, “Yes, bro, I’m free today.” A while later, Raihan also showed up. Then the three of us went to Sumon’s house, because after the surgery, he wasn’t allowed to ride his bike and had to rest all the time. I knew how difficult it must be for such an active and outgoing person to suddenly be confined indoors.

I truly understood his situation, so I tried to visit him daily to keep him company. Sometimes we hung out at his house, and other times we chatted on a narrow, paved road nearby. After spending some time chatting at Sumon’s house, one of his cousins came by with some work, so we couldn’t stay long. We were wondering how to pass the time, as it was only 5 PM, and Ripon’s train wasn’t due until 7 or 7:30. Still, I suggested to Raju and Raihan that we start heading slowly toward the railway station. We could sit there, chat for a while, and have some tea. We spent about an hour and a half chatting and sipping tea at the station. Then the Benapole Express arrived. Ripon looked like he had just woken up—probably slept the whole way on the train. After arriving, he immediately ordered a cup of tea and drank it. Oh, I almost forgot—we had a deal with Ripon. Since we were going to receive him at the station, he would have to treat us to whatever we wanted to eat, and he would pay the bill. So, we headed to "Bhabi’s Hotel & Restaurant," which is quite famous for its kala bhuna (black beef curry) and plain rice. We often go there late at night around 10, 11, or 12 to eat. Since it had been a while, we decided to go there this time too. After a hearty meal, we spent some more time chatting there. Then we started heading home. On the way, it suddenly started raining. We were already rushing to get home, and the rain made things even more difficult. We stood under a shop's shed for a while, hoping the rain would stop, but there was no sign of it easing. So, we decided we couldn’t wait anymore and had to head home in the rain. By the time we got home, we were completely soaked.
