Dopo aver sfiorato i $5.000 il 24 agosto, Ethereum è entrato in una fase correttiva.
Nell'ultima settimana la price action è stata piuttosto piatta: movimenti deboli e una lateralità molto ristretta.
Bitcoin mostra un po' più di vivacità, ma resta comunque confinato in un range laterale.

• Focus sul prossimo FOMC
  Probabilmente il mercato crypto sta aspettando il meeting della
  FED in programma la prossima settimana, dove si discuterà dei
  tassi di interesse.
  Per la prima volta, le stime prezzano con 100% di probabilità un taglio dei tassi. La questione, quindi, non è se ma di quanto: lo scenario più probabile è un taglio di 25 basis point.
  Ipotizzare scenari non è semplice, perché dipenderà molto non solo dalla decisione, ma soprattutto dalle parole di Powell.
  I mercati hanno già scontato un taglio. Ciò che farà la differenza sarà il tono del presidente della Fed:

• Taglio isolato o primo di una serie?
• Ancora preoccupazione per l'inflazione?
  -Prospettive più accomodanti nei prossimi mesi?
  Possibile scenario, un pump nei giorni pre-FOMC, con euforia di breve.
  Al momento dell'annuncio classico sell the news, che potrebbe intrappolare i long e generare liquidazioni.
  Successivamente fase di assestamento e continuazione rialzista con rottura dei massimi storici di ETH (e in generale del mercato crypto). Con la dominance di Bitcoin che continua a calare, potrebbe reagalarci una mini altseason.
  Probabilmente sarà l'ultimo vero respiro rialzista prima dell'inizio del bear market atteso per il 2026.
  Per ora inutile proiettarsi troppo avanti. Monitoriamo i prossimi giorni e il meeting della FED: in base alla reazione dei mercati valuterò eventuali posizioni, come sempre riportate qui sul mio steem blog .

After touching $5,000 on August 24th, Ethereum entered a corrective phase.
Over the past week, price action has been rather flat: weak movements and very limited sideways movement.
Bitcoin is showing a bit more liveliness, but still remains confined to a sideways range.

• Focus on the next FOMC
  The crypto market is likely awaiting the
  FED meeting scheduled for next week, where
  interest rates will be discussed.

For the first time, estimates price in a rate cut with a 100% probability. The question, therefore, is not if, but by how much: the most likely scenario is a 25 basis point cut.
Speculating scenarios is not easy, because it will depend greatly not only on the decision, but above all on Powell's words.
Markets have already priced in a cut. What will make the difference will be the Fed Chairman's tone:

• An isolated cut or the first of a series?
• Still concerned about inflation?
• More dovish outlook for the coming months?
  Possible scenario: a pump in the pre-FOMC days, with short-term euphoria.
  At the time of the announcement, the classic sell-the-news scenario could trap longs and lead to liquidations.
  Subsequently, a phase of adjustment and continuation of the bullish trend, breaking ETH's all-time highs (and the crypto market in general). With Bitcoin's dominance continuing to decline, it could bring us a mini altseason.

It will likely be the last real bullish breath before the start of the bear market expected in 2026.
For now, it's pointless to project too far ahead. We'll be monitoring the next few days and the FED meeting: based on the market reaction, I'll evaluate any potential positions, as always reported here on my Steem blog.
