The June contest #2 by sduttaskitchen| Most inventions exploited for destruction- My views!
Hello everyone On this occasion I would like to participate in a contest held by @sduttaskitchen about June Contest #2 by sduttaskitchen | The most exploited invention for destruction - your view! I would like to invite my friends @rossnenye , @josepha , and @bonaventure24 to participate in this contest
History shows that invention can be both a blessing and a curse. I believe that invention can bring destruction, especially when used without ethics and moral scrutiny. The most obvious example is the atomic bomb. This invention was born from the advancement of physics, but when used in World War II, it claimed hundreds of thousands of lives in an instant. Such is the case with biological weapons, unbridled artificial intelligence and surveillance technology, each with a destructive potential in the wrong hands.
According to the law of the jungle, fighting is largely about power and resources. Situation-driven conflict gravitates towards power and resources. In addition to power grabbing, greed, insecurity, differences in ideology, and economic disparity are also primary causes. These conflicts develop because the players do not want to work things out or share. The temptation to rule, rather than to be left alone to co-exist, is a powerful one. And in personal, interpersonal relationships, it is not always a personal enemy of yours who you are at odds with; it might just as well be his ego, and his not knowing how to see things form your point of view.
When it comes to power—whether it be power play, power game, influence, or energy in the technological power sense—there are three things to consider: responsibility, limits and awareness. Unhampered power can lead to tyranny. Power doesn’t really see without limits. And all too easily forgotten, by oblivious humans, that power is not a monopoly but a mandate, which can be revoked at any time.
Indeed “Handle with care” should be your life code when power and technology are at stake. We must educate the public, and include ethics in the curriculum from an early age. The mass media can also have a significant role to show the effects of abuse of power in a real sense, rather than academically. Social campaigns, documentaries and public discourse are other ways of raising awareness in the eyes of the many.
