Incredible India monthly contest of August #2| Elements that are likely to dissipate over time.

A longing for the Past

Ooh! This contest reminds me of the good old days, pulling me into some state of nostalgia - that sentimental longing or affection for the past. The wish to go back to Egypt for onions, garlic and cucumbers. The past often holds happy personal associations.
Certain events often force me to take a nostalgic glance back at those memorable times. Most of such flashbacks are triggered by music, a movie, old photographs, conversation and when I access some section in my memory.

When I observe the trend, it shows how different things will be in the future. Some new stuff will be introduced while some old stuff will vanish into oblivion.

Some of the elements I think will disappear from our lifestyle in the upcoming era?

In a short while, our society will lose the concept of respect, and it is at that point that its definition will be changed. The old concept of morality has been flushed down the toilet, and some values that held the old world have been discarded.
It had always been said that the patient dog eats the fattest bone. This was accepted when patience was a virtue. In today's world, that patient dog is suffering from malnutrition because the smart dogs have consumed all the food.

We are so immersed in and lost in technology to the point where we have lost good handwriting skills. Very few people can still write legible scripts on paper with either a pen or a pencil. Even our language is adulterated with short forms, emoticons, and memes – OMG.
Most people are more comfortable texting on their phones but struggle to engage smoothly in face-to-face communication, giving them the boldness to say on the phone what they can't say to your face, a form of digital cowardice.

How has our lifestyle undergone substantial changes as a result of various transformations?

We have lost all forms of contentment, and as such, we want what we see, and we want it now because we are not patient. There's no time to think it through at all. Let's just get rich quickly or die trying to make it to the top.
The concept of right and wrong has been badly demolished by the idea that we should accept people the way they are without trying to fix them as if they were broken.
In the modern world, you need plenty of courage to confront a person's poor decisions that reflect low morals and values. If you do, you may be termed toxic, or a word that ends with "... ist", so you really can't engage in an honest and open communication, as people are too weak and sensitive to handle objective criticism.

To avoid sounding as if I only see the bad and there is no good in what we have today, I will make the effort to also enumerate the good things in the modern world.

Useful and negative changes.

With advancements in medical science, people live healthier lives. They work smarter and are more fulfilled. It is easy to tell that this is the positive side of the modern world, advanced technology, assistance from artificial intelligence when solving tasks, and working from home at our own pace while collaborating with coworkers across the world.

On the other hand, most of these technologies are abused, making it difficult to fight crime. Free speech has been cracked down by the need for politically correct statements. You can't freely air your opinion without someone feeling violated or offended for someone else.
