Marriage is an agreement between two adults to live together as husband and wife. When a child is forced into marriage, that can never be called marriage. Rather, it is an abuse. I see this act as demeaning to humanity. Child marriage takes different ways.
Forcing a child on an adult for marriage
Payment/receiving of the girl-child's bride price at birth before she becomes an adult
Whatever form child marriage is practised, it is wrong and should not be practised anywhere.

No, like I mentioned above, I don't support any form of early age marriage. This is because:
It denies the child the right to make his/her personal choice of a husband or wife.
It leads to child labour as the child in marriage may be forced to provide for his family.
It forces the girl child into early motherhood
It leads to mother-and-child mortality because the girl-child may be pregnant and may not be able to go through or carry pregnancy till delivery.
The denies the child the right to education.
There are many negativities associated with child marriage which some societies need to completely abolish.
Before thinking of marriage, which points should parents keep in their mind? And how we can reduce child trafficking! |

- Parents' first thought should be on how the child will be able to make good decisions. That is being able to know the rights and wrongs, and what to do at a particular time. Giving a child out in marriage is a big risk as the child will begin to struggle because a child will always be a child, act and think like a child and also make decision as a child.
- Parents should also think about how early marriage may endanger the child especially for the gurl child who maybe pregnant at early age and suffer the stress of child bearing and taking care of children at an early age. Parents should avoid stressing their children into early motherhood when they are not mature to take on such responsibility.
How to Reduce Child Trafficking
We can reduce child trafficking by raising awareness about the dangers of child trafficking.
People should be educated in order to understand what child trafficking is all about, because a lot of people do not have a single idea of what "child trafficking" is.
Governments should make strict laws to punish offenders and these laws should be strictly adhered to.
Government and nongovernmental organisations should take up the responsibility of checking issues related to child trafficking.

Yes, I believe that education can play a significant role in reducing child trafficking. When people know what child trafficking is all about, how people become victims and how child trafficking is negatively affecting their victims and their families, I believe that they will know how to go about it.
Education enlightens people about a lot of things, it creates awareness. When a person is educated, he will understand some antics the traffickers use to capture their victims. They'll also be able to read some terms of agreement some of the traffickers use to skilfully skim their victims. I will say that education is an "eye-opener" and one of the necessary tools for fighting against child trafficking.

I think what increases the rate of child marriage amongst girls is because of the financial compensation to be received through bride price. Given that some parents are poor or lack enough to take care of themselves, so they see this as a form of investment.
Hence, child marriage can not be seen as acceptable. It is actually a form of child abuse.
