🌗 Poem: “Where Light Meets Shadow”

There was great darkness, born of silence,
A cradle where they put asleep Lost sorrows.
And the objects on the sky were very reluctant to shine,
The ghost known as the moon forgot his line.

A thick mist in my bosom,
There dawned no morn to give me rest.
Blind and cold I entered in shadows,
The load of secrets, truth unspoken.

So small, yet oft so bashful is the light,
A wall. A candles flame.
One voice, one kiss, one sweet hand-
And hope started comprehending.

With golden fire it crackled night,
Every spark had the food of a passion.
The world which used to have no voice, started singing,
Whenever one light, A fresher spring.

I heard the rising of the sun In her apparition.
As when the dawn its gentle hush Pities Before it wails.
The gloomiest of my minds rooms
Had its embrace of warmth I thought unknown.

Now two things there are-both light and shade,
An ideal dance eternized.
How without dark 🌗Is there a sight?
The strength of light within thee and me?

This poem was my way of showing the proximity of light and darkness inside each one of us. There are times when darkness can be infinite- sadness, fear, confusion and many more., but most of the times they help us appreciate because of light. I have experienced myself some of these moments in life, when life seems to become totally engulfed in black and then some kind word or friend, or even the palest shade is able to change the situation.

It can be seen in this poem that darkness is not necessarily evil, but sometimes it can even be used as the opposite of the brightness that makes it stand out and be valued. It is the combination of both that makes us human beings, and by that, we become more powerful and self-conscious.
