Welcome to my blog as I will be taking us back my memory lane via the "The March contest #2 by sduttaskitchen|School life Vs college life!" Whenever I ponder about the best moments of my life, two essential moments tops the league and this happens to be my School and college life. These two moments are highly essential as they play significant roles in moulding the @edu-chemist we all know today. In this work, I will be covering the following areas;

I will be choosing between school and college giving rationale for my choice
Highlighting what I miss most from these phases
Sharing the best moments that make me nostalgic about my choice

School or College life?

Deciding which was the best for me posses some level of difficulties as both presents varying life experiences and lessons. Well, for the sake of satisfying the purpose of this work, I would say that, though college life remains memorable, school life tops the league. It was an era of pure joy, innocence and friendship that were not based on any form of inequalities (Health, Gender, social status wealth or career to mention but a few).

Without missing words, School life was a world of its own that was occupied by homework competition, coming to school early, being the first to finish copying note in class, preparing for a class test and hiding behind class mates so we won't be called to answer questions during a surprised evaluation session in class.

One of the outstanding reasons why school life remains the best for me is the friendship I built. Unlike in college where we made friends on the basis of shared academic ambition, social interest, career or goals. In school, no much stress as friendship where made just by sharing the same desk in class or being sit partners, serving punishment together, forming a team during sports or by simply wearing the same sandals.

I can still recall how I and my friends shared everything in Common. From eating in the same lunch box to drinking from the same bottle water and significantly telling stories of our latest imaginary crushes in class. Then, we were so sure that our friendship would last forever only for life to take us through different paths. However our bonds, moments and memories would continue to remain for ages

Posterity would never forgive me if I should fail to recognize teachers who came in varying forms to mould me. While some were strict, some were kind and others were jovial to the core. However, all of them would forever remain unforgettable in my heart as the played significant roles in moulding me. Though my college lecturers did same, the closeness can't be compared to my school teachers.

My Mathematics teacher is one of the teachers I would love to point out among other teachers as he helped me in navigating mathematics problems without using calculator. This he achieved through cordial and careful explanations. Then my English teacher is one of the persons responsible for my likes for storytelling and blogging as she impacted on me incredible writing and reading skills. Permit me to admit that the impact of teachers in schools is highly remarkable as they act beyond educators while taking roles such as counselors, role models surrogate parents and guidance.

Another exciting moment about school which forms my nostalgic was in the area of simplicity during celebrations. Whether it was independence day, children's day, teacher's day or sport day, each of them were exciting as I always had reasons to avoid school routines those days.

After all of these came college, a completely different world entirely. There in college, I went with my disciplined school mindset only to realized that discipline was nothing of much interest here as it was during school days. Here, there was no calling bell to bring people for lectures and no teacher sitting in class to observe late comers.

Here, we had no uniforms, no morning devotion, no teacher punishing us for not doing assignments or completing our notes. College gave me a feeling of independence where I had to choose my courses as well as planing for my future.

Permit me to acknowledge the fact that this feeling of independence births a high level of responsibilities. Because, while in School, everything was structured for us but here in college, we had to construct and structure things for ourselves. I learned that attending lectures was for my good wether anyone forces me or not while College friendship was build upon personal prejudices unlike in school where it just happened.

All of this made college had special charms as the discussion became highly intellectually oriented and we had passion and opportunities to explore passions beyond academic books. I saw myself joining clubs such as the football club, writing club, public speaking among others. In all, College actually gave me the Freedom to think critically within and in the box rather than following route classroom teachings.

One of the most exciting moments of my college activities was our final road trip before graduation. This was my very first time of going inter State without the influence or company of my parents. At this point I began to see myself as a matured young man who is capable of managing a family. In this journey, we planned everything ourselves, made the budget and executed it appropriately.

This journey taught me lessons that classroom was not able to teach me. Here I learned responsibility, budgeting and time management. It was a trip that gave me an insight on how life would be after college as it came up days before our graduation.

If I am in a position to point out which I miss the most from both phases of life, I would sincerely say that school life wins because of its simplicity. The silly fight forgotten within minutes, the interplay of people from different culture, gender and tribes yet acting together with all amount of unity. Without a doubt, College give me independence while school gave me the capability to manage the independence life. Kudos to the school.

At this point of my life, my nostalgic moment which I won't forget in a haste was l how different the morning bell sounded when compared to the closing bell, the nervousness before a test/examination, the joy of performing well in a test and the sadness felt when saying goodbye to one another especially during a long vacation. These moments may not have been the best but they really stood out and history will not forget in a drift.

Finally, both school and college life played significant roles in shaping and making me who I am today, school life remains the dearest to my heart. It is indeed a moment of laughter, friendship, needless competitions and experiences that has and will forever shape my life till eternity

I invite @spektro223 @basil20 @nsijoro, @alexanderpeace and @impersona to join the contest.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR READING
