The May contest #1 by sduttaskitchen| Way to Decrease Pollution on Earth!
Generation of waste has been part of our lifestyles for decades now. We humans are the core contributors to polluted environments but the good thing is that we can actually reduce the way we generate harmful waste in the environment and atmosphere.
At this point, I will use the contest tips as guidelines to explain in details about pollution and ways to decrease it.
Question1: How can we execute zero waste in our lifestyle? Describe.
It is impossible to complete a day without generating waste, this has been part of us and the best we can do is being conscious of how we generate waste on the daily basis. We can execute zero waste in our lifestyle by reducing the way we purchase unnecessary and unwanted items from the market.
Another important aspect is embracing the three Rs, what are these three Rs?
It is simply;
- Reduce
- Reuse
- Recycle
I will explain each of the “R” by linking it to my daily lifestyle.
REDUCE
This is where our power lies, we can reduce the way we generate waste by consuming less and in portion, purchase a durable items from the market and the ones with less packaging.
I have a little strategy I normally use to avoid coming home with plenty nylons from the market. I have a special bag which I use whenever I’m going to the market to purchase food items. This way, I avoid collecting plenty plastic nylons from the sellers. Many of them usually feel that I’m doing them a favour but within my mind, I’m really avoiding unnecessary waste generation.
REUSE
Getting a reusable items is also another way we can execute zero waste in our daily lives. Like I said earlier, I have a special bag which I usually use for shopping and this bag can be used over and over again until it gets torn. Another thing that create more waste at home is sachets and small bottles water. Getting a water dispenser where the big bottles can be reused will go a long way to decrease waste generation.

RECYCLE
Recycling unwanted items into something useful will also help to execute zero waste in our lifestyles. Old clothes, shoes, plastics and many more materials can be recycled.
Question 2: What are the ways to decrease carbon dioxide in the environment?
Living in a world where the atmosphere has been polluted by carbon dioxide emission is very harmful to our health and the environment at large. However, being that there are solutions for this problem which are;
Making use of renewable energy that produces little carbon dioxide emissions or none at all like solar energy instead of generators at home, hydro and geothermal energy sources too are better. This way, we can avoid the use of fossil fuels. Currently, I have been seeing rechargeable cars which can also be a meaningful solution.
Unplug your devices from light when fully charged or not in use and also turn off electronic appliances at home.
If possible, surround your environment with green plants or trees because it absorbed carbon dioxide during the process of photosynthesis.
Question3: What are the main reasons behind this changing climate? Share some tips to lower pollution on Earth!
There are many reasons behind the changing climate and it will be listed below;
- Here in my country, we have a lot of industries and factories and there are many activities going on there. Those companies that manufacture products using chemicals and other substances tend to release pollutants into the atmosphere and the liquid form of the harmful chemicals get washed into the water through drainage systems.
- The use of chemical fertilizers during agricultural activities
- Deforestation is also another way to change the climate
- Burning of fossil fuel
- Environment that is overpopulated has high increase in changing climate because of their activities and how fast they generate waste
Few Tips to Lower Pollution
- Embrace the three Rs listed in this article
- Embrace renewable energy sources
- Plant more trees in your surroundings
- Dispose waste properly
I will invite @josepha @dequeen and @mvchacin to join this interesting contest.
what you share is to our timing. True though that waste = modern lifestyle + consumer culture. Keep in mind though, individual actions and the group can make a huge difference. Fixing things could look like small things including: reducing single-use plastics, recycling or switching to environmentally appropriate products. Government policy and education also are key to getting people more responsible about the waste they produce.
