Great Steemians, warm greetings to you all.
To us Christians, every Sunday is special. Many people use this day in different ways apart from going to their place of worship. It wasn't different for me. I decided to worship with another denomination with my brothers; it was altogether something nice.
Let me take you through how my Sunday went.

Morning Record Of Activities

I planned to worship outside of my church. Before I went to bed the previous day, I made some calls to know the worship time and duration, since I hadn't worshipped there before. This is the right thing to do anytime you want to visit somewhere that you're not familiar with their ways and culture. I was told 10 am; therefore, I didn't stress in the morning as I wasn't going to my church, which I usually leave the house at 7:30 am.

I took a lot of time to prepare myself after morning devotion. I ironed clothes and then left for the church at Nkemba, Uyo, in Akwa Ibom State. I got there earlier and joined their Sunday school before the main service commenced a few minutes past 10 am.
I experienced a liturgical order different from my own church doctrine. It was very pleasing to be part of the service. Meanwhile, my kinsmen were to join me in the service, but they delayed, so I left.

Afternoon Activities: Meet Me In The Church

The prolonged moments of singing, although very rewarding, took us until noon. The pastor preached on the topic “The Price of Honour” with texts drawn from 1 Kings 2:1-15 and Philippians 3:13-17. He admonished the congregants to take action like Elisha and Paul took to get what they wanted. He reminded us that “destiny journey is personal while destiny celebration is for everyone.” For me, I will add, pay the price today and be celebrated tomorrow. The sermon time took from 12:34 pm to 1:48 pm, followed by quality moments of prayers in response to the message received. The service closed about 2:21 pm with benediction. I left with my brothers; they took me to a place where we spent time discussing and advising each other.

Evening Period

From the time we left the church to a seat-out, we stayed there until 4:47 am. Some of them even forgot to go and watch the match between Manchester City and United. Our interaction covered individuals' development our walk with God. We admonished ourselves not to be a problem to society and the family at large. After sharing, drinks and meat, they saw me off with joy that I visited their area. I got home about 6:27 pm and rested a while. Then I switched on my television for the evening news, and CNN popped up with the trending killing of Charlie Kirk. It was heartbreaking to see life being taken out of him in such a heartless and inhumane manner by 22-year-old Ribbinson, known to be the prime suspect. At this point my mind left me to the deceased's family, how the children are coping, and his wife. No matter the hatred, killing him is a sign of weakness. He was entitled to his opinions and did not deserve to die. May the US government give justice for Charlie Kirk even in death.

SUMMARY OF THE DAY

I went to a church different from my denomination and learnt something new. My challenge was the prolonged service, from morning through afternoon (call it 4 - 5 hours), but I was patient till the close of the service. Meeting with my kinsmen was another rewarding time, during which we interacted to know the problems and the welfare of one another. I watched on CNN the death of Charlie Kirk and the suspect, which kept me wondering about the inhumanity and heartlessness of some people in this world.

LESSON OF THE DAY

1. Sometimes leave your comfort zone and learn from others. 2. Remember, family comes first after God. Call your brothers, discuss with them, and share your problems and welfare; it strengthens love and bonds. 3. Do not conclude your day without listening to the evening news except in a power outage condition. Be updated. 4. No matter your anger or hatred for one another, please do not take their lives. The law and God will demand their blood from your hands.
