Raudhatul Jannah Mosque

Located on Jalan Elak, not far from the main Banda Aceh-Medan road, Raudhatul Jannah Mosque stands as one of the large mosques that is quite striking in the Alue Awe area, Muara Dua District, Lhokseumawe City. Its strategic location makes this mosque easily accessible to both the surrounding community and travelers passing by. With a distance of only about 50 meters from the main highway, its presence is felt, both visually and spiritually.

When you first arrive at the courtyard of the mosque, a calm atmosphere immediately greets you. The courtyard of the mosque is spacious, open, and still being hardened. Although the surface is not yet paved or fully paved, this area is still comfortable to walk through and provides ample space for vehicles and congregational activities. Several shady trees around the courtyard provide natural shade, especially for four-wheeled vehicles parked underneath. For two-wheelers, a special parking lot has been prepared on the left side of the mosque, well organized.

In terms of the main building, the Raudhatul Jannah Mosque is still under construction. The upper structure looks unfinished, especially the outer walls and minarets. However, the two large blue and yellow domes that adorn the roof of the mosque symbolize the hope and splendor of the future of this house of worship. The domes not only strengthen the visual identity of the mosque, but also give the impression that this mosque was built with a great long-term vision.

Inside the Raudhatul Jannah mosque

Although the construction has not been fully completed, the inside of the mosque is well-functioning and very suitable for worship. I came here around dawn and chose to pray Dhuhr inside. The main room is cool, even though it is not air-conditioned. This coolness comes from the good natural ventilation and the free flow of outside air in and out. In addition, a number of fans are placed at several points to add to the comfort of worshipers.

The interior of the mosque also shows that the construction was carried out in stages but seriously. Some parts of the walls have been installed with Islamic ornaments and carvings that beautify the room. The mihrab and wooden pulpit look elegant and distinctive, placed on the front side of the main room. The pulpit, made of carved wood, looks new and well-maintained, adding to the solemnity of the main prayer area.

On the other hand, the facilities are also quite complete. Prayer rugs, shelves of holy books and Islamic books, a microphone for the imam, and a number of fans are available and functioning properly. Flip-flops are also available for worshipers who need them. Interestingly, although the construction has not been fully completed, attention to the basic needs of worshipers is still maintained.

The atmosphere in the whudu place

One of the best aspects of this mosque is the ablution stations. The building looks new, clean, and very well maintained. The floors are shiny ceramic tiles, and the faucets function smoothly. There is a separation between the male and female wudu stations, with the female wudu station on the right side of the mosque. This shows the committee's attention to the comfort and privacy of worshipers.

Rest hall and motorcycle parking lot

Not far from the ablution area and the two-wheeled parking area, there is an open hall or pavilion which is also quite spacious. This hall may be used as a place of rest, recitation, or other social activities. The presence of this hall is an added value because it is functional and can support religious activities outside of prayer time.

There is a second floor

In terms of atmosphere, the Raudhatul Jannah Mosque offers a distinctive serenity. The sound of birds, the gentle breeze, and the shady atmosphere make this a suitable place to worship solemnly. Although the mosque is not fully built, it has a strong charm. It is like a reflection of the process - still being built, still being organized, but already providing great benefits to anyone who stops by.

Overall, Raudhatul Jannah Mosque is a mosque of great potential and intention. It may not be fully completed, but from what is already in place - from the structure of the building, to the facilities, to the management of the place - it can already be felt that this mosque was built with seriousness. For those of you who are passing through the Jalan Elak area or are in Lhokseumawe, stopping by this mosque to pray or simply rest can be a pleasant spiritual experience.

I personally feel comfortable here. Even without air conditioning or fancy designs like big city mosques, the simplicity is soothing. Raudhatul Jannah is not just a physically built mosque, but also slowly built with the spirit and concern of the people. Hopefully, the construction of this mosque can be completed soon, and become a prosperous and blessed center of community activities.
