Today is the day of Lord Jagannath Swami's Rath Yatra. On this day, Lord Jagannath Swami is taken on a chariot and taken around the city. His brother Balram and sister Mata Subhadra also ride on the chariot during the city tour. People are very enthusiastic about participating in Lord Jagannath's Rath Yatra. So today, I too decided to go to Lord Jagannath Swami's Rath Yatra with my brother and some friends.
So, to go to the Rath Yatra, we thought it appropriate to wear a yellow kurta and I also got my yellow kurta from my mother and got it ironed and wore it and got ready to go on the Yatra. The Yatra started from Shri Badi Kali Ji Temple located in our area and was to go to Chowpatiha, Akbari Gate, Gol Darwaza Chowk, Chaurah, Kaun Ishwar Temple and then to Kudia Ghat, Gomti River.
This Rath Yatra travels for about 10 kilometers. All of us contributed to the Yatra with great enthusiasm and participated in the entire Yatra. The Yatra was being welcomed at various places. Many people from the Muslim community were also welcoming the Yatra at various places and were boosting the morale and enthusiasm of the devotees by giving them sherbet and water.
Because the heat was very high, people were sweating profusely, so water counters were set up at various places. At many places, people also distributed lassi, cold drinks and ice cream during the Yatra and the devotees enjoyed them with great gusto.

The Yatra was gradually moving forward and people were joining the Yatra from various places, due to which a crowd of thousands of people had joined the Yatra. Elephants, horses, camels, many chariots and especially the chariot of Lord Shri Jagannath Swami were adding a different beauty to the Yatra. Slowly the Yatra was moving towards its destination and the crowd of people was increasing. Seeing the heat, many people sprinkled water on the Yatra from the roofs of their houses, which felt very good. A lot of relief was felt by pouring cold water on the body.

The yatra was progressing and people were welcoming the yatra at various places. We also drank lassi, cold drink and sherbet available as prasad at various places to our heart's content. The yatra was warmly welcomed at every square and intersection. Many big ministers and officers from the government welcomed the yatra. After that the yatra proceeded towards its destination. The yatra was progressing slowly and it was a lot of fun. It was a memorable moment for me to join the yatra with my friends and brother.
All my friends and my brother were also enjoying the yatra a lot. It was getting dark slowly and the yatra was about to reach its destination i.e. Gudiya Ghat. We all reached the destination with the yatra, took some rest, then came home with prasad and after going home told the details of the entire yatra to our mother. Mother was also very happy to hear the details of the yatra. We were feeling very tired, so after a while we slept.
