"Tell us about your educational career."
Hi everyone, elementary school is the foundation of knowledge for every child to go through because it will help the child to build themselves in order to understand basic things as well as improve their writing skill.
My favorite subject as a child was social studies. I loved this subject so much because it taught us how we can relate with other people peacefully in our society. The particular topic that I found interesting was family. I liked the way our teacher explained what family is and the types of families to us.
It is necessary for us as young children to go through this stage and learn this subject so that it will help us understand what is currently happening in society. Social studies is a broad subject, that's why some students study it alone in university. It also teaches us the importance of being a good citizen to the family and country at large. I love social studies because it is easier to understand than solving equations, which are too difficult to understand.
My biggest challenge in my educational career is when I used to trek from home to school. It's my biggest challenge so far that could never forget and this happened due to a lack of financial support from relatives. This affected my academic performance because I used to arrived late to school and was scolded by one of the teachers who didn't want to listen to my explanation.
At that time, I found it difficult to solve some mathematical problems to the extent that the West Africa Examination Council for junior students was coming up. I later understood it with the help of one of my best friends who has full knowledge of mathematics. In terms of finances, my friend from Ghana helped me by giving different kinds of clothes when he came back from his country side.
The first day I entered university as a fresh student, I met new people who showed me love as if we had known each other for a long time. I felt excited to see those faces; till now, we still communicate with each other even after we graduated. The school management gave me a certain course known as Industrial Personnel Management.
Eating and playing games together with my colleagues in the hostel is amazing. In fact I would missed all those laugh and gist. I like my university day because it expose me to some many things I have never learn before.
The experience that is still useful to me was when we went to Aro Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Abeokuta for a field trip. We gained a lot of experience. The workshop organized for us as students was interesting, where the lecturer delivered a good speech to us, particularly pertaining to what we had already discussed in class.
The facility in the area is well arranged, and most of us were divided into units to see how the psychiatric doctors and nurses attended to patients suffering from mental illness. I gained a lot, and it is a real-life experience. Most of the things we were taught in class are theoretical, whereas we witnessed practical aspect of what we learned in school. different types of mental disorders are treated and most of them are respond to treatment.
If I have the chance to study another subject, I will choose business studies. The world is evolving day by day, and people are engaged in different kinds of trades where they make cool money to survive. Studying this subject will help me choose any business I find interesting, particularly if such business are scarce in our community.
Business studies play an essential role in school. Without it, some students may feel relaxed to the extent that they may find it difficult to know the type of business they can venture into. My knowledge from business studies will support me in promoting my business and knowing some secrets behind it.
Conclusion
Going to school is an opportunity for many of us. It helps us to be more civilized and to know what is right and wrong. If we don't have the chance to go to school we may not be able to showcase our writing skill in Steemit platform. I would like to invite @chant, @bonaventure24 and @ridwant to participate in this contest.
