What rule do you follow the most in time management every day and why?
The rule that I usually follow most is by setting my alarm that would wake me up for Fajr prayer. Every day, that's how it happens. This consistent ringing of alarm has helped me manage my time effectively. In fact, it always assists me in reaching my place of work on time because I would have finished all the housework that I set for myself.
Another thing is that I always avoid multitasking because I cannot do everything at the same time. I need to do it one after the other so that everything can work perfectly for me. Engaging in multitasking can contribute negatively to my health, so I need to attend to the most important one so that my time can be managed effectively and efficiently.
When do you feel like you waste the most time? Why?
The day I waste most of my precious time is when I attend unproductive sessions with someone who is not fruitful, particularly discussions that do not contribute meaningfully to our lives. I remember feeling bad when I was in school staying with friends who were not serious about their studies. The time I should have used to study in the library so I could prepare for exams or tests, I wasted with some friends, and that is the day I consider wasting my time.
Do you have any effective time management tools or apps that you use?
The effective time management tool I use is my wristwatch. This tool helps me manage my time at my convenience. In fact, some older people in my community still use it because they know the value of time management. Sometimes I use my mobile phone to check the time to track how long I spend on a particular task, but if my phone dies or switches off, I may use my wristwatch as an alternative means to monitor my activities.
What is your most effective strategy for balancing study/work and personal life?
The most effective strategy to balance my study and work life is to eat healthy food, have enough sleep, and drink a lot of water so that I can gain more energy to concentrate on the task I am about to execute. Erasing negative thoughts that keep bothering my mind will help me maintain a positive mindset to solve challenges in the workplace and other areas of life. After work, I need to hang out with friends and family because their words of encouragement can help me achieve my personal goals.
What changes do you want to make in time management in the next 1 month?
The change I want to make in time management is to do the right thing at the right time so that my mind will be at peace. Sometimes, I used to forget things easily, and I don't want that to happen again. I need to write things down or put them in my calendar on the exact month when the event occurs. This will serve as a reminder to help me not forget things quickly.
It would be nice to maintain or use our time management perfectly so that we can become successful in pursuing our dreams.
