“Just Sit Right Back And You’ll Hear A Tale!” 😊
It was a cold Thanksgiving morning, Liz had just put the Turkey in the oven.
Silvertop and the family piled into the family pickup truck……we were on a Thanksgiving quest to find the perfect Christmas tree!🤗
High up into the mountains we drove, as the snow got deeper and deeper!😮
The local Forest Service map indicated that Christmas trees could be cut in an area above the local cross country ski trailhead.
We pulled into the trailhead parking area…………..
“Just above” can be a very relative term my friends!😇
Everyone knows that you can’t just pick the very first tree you spot!☺️
Just watch the “ Griswold family Christmas” movie, and you will begin to understand!🤣
Several hours past……………
At this point we were pushing through waist deep snow!
Silvertop started hearing “I’m cold” from one of our kids!🥶
That’s when we spotted “IT” the perfect Christmas tree!🤗
It took Mom, Dad, and three kids, to drag this “Perfect” Christmas tree down the mountain!
We pulled, and tugged, and then stopped and cut two foot off the bottom of the tree to lighten the load!😇
Thirty minutes later, we stopped and cut another two foot off the tree!😅
Then one more time…………….
Finally back at the cross country trailhead we quickly drove down the mountain…….
Our Thanksgiving bird was going to be overcooked!🙄
We made it home just in time for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner!
“Silvertop after cutting sections off the Christmas tree THREE times, how tall is it now?”🥰
“Just under 18 feet honey Lol!”
It just barely fit in our mountain cabin Lol!😅
